jTFlashManager is a useful program that allows you to manage a lot more than Flash Ive been geting a lot of downloads on this tool lately, and a lot of feedback from users. Thank you to everyone with whom Ive corresponded. The most common complaint about this tool is that Internet Explorer on Windows will continue to annoy users to download Flash if it is turned off. I plan on including a manager for this in the next release of jTFlashManager. Until then, heres a workaround:
1) Go to File>>Find Plugin.
2) Browse to the dll for Macromedia Software updates. On Windows NT/2000, this will be something like C:WINNTSYSYEM32MacromedcommonswSupport.dll. For Win 9x, it will be something like C:WINDOWSSYSTEMMacromedcommonswSupport.dll .
3) Choose this file. When jTFlashManager asks you to name it, call it "IE Updates".
4) Turn it off with the regular jTFlashManager interface.

TurnFlash shows you whether the Flash component is enabled or disabled Many Web sites today use the Macromedia Flash component for creating animated ads. These ads consumes additional bandwidth and sometimes even slow down your computer. Unfortunately, Internet Explorer doesnt provide a simple way to disable the Flash component.
Furthermore, if you refuse to install the Flash component, Internet Explorer will constantly ask you to install Flash in each time that you enter into a Web page that contains a Flash object. This utility allows you to easily disable and enable the Flash component in Internet Explorer browser (Version 5.00 and above).
When you disable flash with this utility, all new windows in Internet Explorer will be opened without using the Flash component. The disabling of Flash doesnt affect the windows that are already opened. While the Flash Component is disabled, Internet Explorer will not ask you to download and install it.
However, the disabling of the Flash component might cause a script error in some Web pages. Be aware that in Windows NT, 2000 and XP, this utility will not work if you dont have permission to write to the Registry keys of Internet Explorer.
The TurnFlash utility is a standalone executable, and it doesnt require any installation process or additional DLLs. In order to start using it, run the executable file: tflash.exe After you run it, a small icon containing a blue circle with "F" letter will be appeared in you taskbar.
The icon in the taskbar shows you whether the Flash component is enabled or disabled: if the "F" letter appears inside the blue circle, the Flash component is currently enabled. if the "F" letter doesnt appear in the taskbar icon, the Flash component is disabled.
