Grid X description GRID/X - Grid ActiveX Control Mabrys Grid/X ActiveX control offers functionality and flexibility not seen in other grid controls. The rich object model consists of 20+ separate objects that make utilizing Grid/Xs features easy and reliable. The following are some of the more important top-level objects found in the Grid/X programming model: Views - Grid/X provides multiple views of the data it manages. Views may be split either vertically or horizontally, and you may allow the users to resize, remove, and create new views as required. A number of objects and properties may be used to customize the data that appears in views. And, unique to Grid/X, is the ability to host ActiveX controls in a View. The Grid/X tutorials show how to put this powerful feature to good use. RowStyles - Each RowStyle object has a Condition property. A condition is a Boolean expression that is evaluated for each row of data before it is displayed. You may add multiple Styles to the RowStyles collection. When there are multiple styles, each row of data is evaluated relative to each Style until a match is found. GroupByBar - The GroupByBar object provides you with an easy way to present hierarchical data. It maintains a collection of Group objects that determine the way that data is grouped. The GroupByBar also serves as a user-interface element. Using the GroupByBar, users can organize hierarchical data as they require. StatusBar - The Status Bar is displayed at the bottom of the Grid, when visible. There are a number of properties that provide you with the ability to customize the StatusBar. For example, the Image and ImageAlignment properties make it easy to add an icon or other image to the StatusBar. And the StatusBar.Style property provides complete control over font, colors, and more. Like other grid controls, Grid/X supports the following data modes: Unbound - UnboundRead and UnboundWrite events are fired when Grid/X requires access to the dataset. ADO/DAO - ADO/DAO recordsets/data sources are used to supply data to the grid. In addition to those commonly seen data modes, Grid/X supports data modes and extensibility not seen in other grid controls. Object - You can supply an Object as the data source for Grid/X. The objects properties are used as the data. Appropriate columns are created automatically. Collection - Uses a Collection object as the source of data. VBAdapter - This is one of Grid/Xs most unusual and flexible features. Grid/X defines a COM Interface which you may implement using Visual Basic alone. Using the VBAdapter interface, you have complete control over the data accessed by Grid/X and can easily provide things such as calculated values for given cells, rows, or columns. The Grid/X tutorials show how easy it is to use this extensibility feature. Grid/X provides many other features - too many to describe here - including OLE Drag & Drop, automatic mapping of column values to drop-down box items, built-in edit controls such as text and calendar, the ability for you to provide custom drawing for any or all cells, and much more. Note for Access Users Events in Access 2002 have parameters different from those in Access 2000. For example, the UnboundReadData event in Access 2000 is: Private Sub GridX1_UnboundReadData(ByVal nRowIndex As Long, _ ByVal pRowData As GRIDXLibCtl.IRowData) ----some code---- End Sub and in Access 2002 it is: Private Sub GridX1_UnboundReadData(ByVal nRowIndex As Long, _ ByVal pRowData As Object) ----some code---- End Sub The VBA compiler will not recognize the type GRIDXLibCtl.IRowData in Access 2002. This occurs in most of Grid/Xs events when changing an application from Access 2000 to Access 2002. This folder provides information about the Grid/X object model and the objects that are the immediate children of Grid/X. To effectively utilize the features of Grid/X you should make yourself familiar with the object model. Grid/X provides exposes a rich object model which provides flexibility and features not seen in other grid controls. The object model is simple, but before you can effectively use Grid/X you should familiarize yourself with it. |

The grid is also available as a ready-to-use applet. This means that not a single line of programming is needed to embed the grid in your web pages/web applications. In this case the visual appearance of the grid, the overall structure, and the data fetching is totally controlled by the parameters that you provide in the APPLET tag. Another powerful feature of the out-of-the-box grid applet is that you can bind the grid events of your interest to your own JavaScript functions. The other way around is also possible. From within JavaScript functions you can change almost every aspect of the grid by simply calling the appropriate functions of the applet. The level of control that you have over the grid from JavaScript is not restricted to the visual and structural aspects of the grid. From within JavaScript you can just as easily add new data to the grid, update data that is already displayed in the grid and delete data from the grid. |

Whenever you need to super-impose a rectangular grid on your clip, this is the plug you are looking for. grid master lets you divide the clip into any number of areas (with separate settings for horizontal and vertical divisions). grid master will help you choose the grids color, shadow (should you want a shadow), offset, and opacity. Plus, you can scale the grid to the active area - or simply have the grid appear only in the active area (unscaled). And if that is not enough you can also choose the grids line thickness. Use this plug whenever you need a grid placed over your clip Here are some key features of "grid master": area of effect : · define the area of the clip you want to be affected by the plug-in. all other parts or the clip remain untouched. horizontal: · here you set the number of horizontal divisions (0..20). vertical: · use this to set the number of vertical divisions (0..20) line thickness: · this sets the thickness of the grid scale to active area: · if you check this box, the grid will be scaled to fit exactly the active area. h-offset: · usually, the grid will begin at position 0 - you can move it left by the amount of pixels you specify here. v-offset: · use this field to offset the grid vertically grid color: · here you can choose the color of the grid lines shadow color: · the grid can have a drop shadow of your preferred color. choose the shadow color here use shadow: · if you want the plug to draw the shadow, check this box. opacity: · set the grids opacity here. |

Grid::Transform is a Perl module with fast grid transformations. SYNOPSIS use Grid::Transform; $g = Grid::Transform->new([a..o], rows=>5); $g->rotate_270->flip_vertical; print join( , $g->grid), "n"; The Grid::Transform module provides fast methods to transform a grid of arbitrary data types. METHODS $g = Grid::Transform->new( @grid, rows=>num, columns=>num ) Creates a new Grid::Transform object. The first argument is a reference to a 1-dimensional array representing a 2-dimensional "row major" (row by row) grid. (A column major grid is simply the counter transpose of a row major one.) The grid may be composed of arbitrary data types. The original array is never modified- all transformations operate on a copy. At least one dimension must be specified. If the grid and dimensions do not produce a rectangular grid extra empty elements ("") will be added to the grid. $g2 = $g->copy Returns a copy of the original Grid::Transform object. These methods get or set the grid attributes: @grid = $g->grid $grid = $g->grid @grid = $g->grid( @grid ) In list context, returns an array representing the current grid. In scalar context, returns a reference to the array. Accepts an array reference representing a new grid. The new grid will be resized if the dimensions of the previous grid do not match. $g->rows $g->rows( $num ) Returns the current number of rows. $g->columns $g->cols $g->columns( $num ) Returns the current number of columns. All transform methods return the Grid::Transform object, so transforms can be chained. $g->rotate_90 $g->rotate90 Rotates the grid 90 degrees clock-wise. a b c d e f g h i j k l a b c d i e a | e f g h -> j f b i e a j f b k g c l h d i j k l k g c l h d $g->rotate_180 $g->rotate180 Rotates the grid 180 degrees clock-wise. a b c d e f g h i j k l a b c d l k j i | e f g h -> h g f e l k j i h g f e d c b a i j k l d c b a $g->rotate_270 $g->rotate270 Rotates the grid 270 degrees clock-wise. a b c d e f g h i j k l a b c d d h l | e f g h -> c g k d h l c g k b f j a e i i j k l b f j a e i $g->flip_horizontal $g->mirror_horizontal Flips the grid across the horizontal axis. a b c d e f g h i j k l a b c d i j k l | e f g h -> e f g h i j k l e f g h a b c d i j k l a b c d $g->flip_vertical $g->mirror_vertical Flips the grid across the vertical axis. a b c d e f g h i j k l a b c d d c b a | e f g h -> h g f e d c b a h g f e l k j i i j k l l k j i $g->transpose Flips the grid across the vertical axis and then rotates it 90 degress clock-wise. a b c d e f g h i j k l a b c d l h d | e f g h -> k g c l h d k g c j f b i e a i j k l j f b i e a $g->counter_transpose $g->countertranspose Flips the grid across the horizontal axis and then rotates it 90 degrees clock-wise. a b c d e f g h i j k l a b c d a e i | e f g h -> b f j a e i b f j c g k d h l i j k l c g k d h l $g->fold_right Folds the columns to the right. a b c d e f g h i j k l a b c d b c d a | e f g h -> f g e h b c a d f g e h j k i l i j k l j k i l $g->fold_left Folds the columns to the left. a b c d e f g h i j k l a b c d d a c b | e f g h -> h e g f d a c b h e g f l i k j i j k l l i k j |
