Hermetic File Search application is for indexing and searching HTML files, text files or files of a similar kind (e.g., XML files) on CD, a hard disk, etc.
It indexes every word in every file, and any file containing a particular set of words (or any of those words, or an exact phrase) can be found by searching for those words.
It consists of two modules: An index module used to create an index of the searchable files, and a search module used to search those files.

A cellular automaton consists of:
(a) A structure of cells, such as the squares on a chess board.
(b) A set of values or "states" such that each cell is associated with a particular state.
(c) A set of rules describing how one state of the system (a particular configuration of cells in specific states) is to be transformed or converted to another state of the system.
This is software for exploring five cellular automata, as follows:
1. An extended version of Conways Life, called q-state Life.
2. A simulation of the Belousov-Zhabotinsky chemical reaction in which, beginning from a random state of the system, spirals and curlicues "spontaneously" emerge.
3. A process called Togetherness in which cells with random states move so as to maximize the number of neighbors of each cell in the same state as that cell (or, thought of in another way, in which the cells rearrange themselves so as to form maximal clusters of cells all having the same state).
4. Viral Replication, a simulation of a population of dividing cells subject to viral infection.
5. Diffusion-Limited Aggregation, illustrating a process in which particles diffuse (moving randomly) and aggregate to form a fractal structure.
The documentation provides a complete description of the algorithms used.

Index Files Search Words Lite is created to be a helpful and innovative utility for indexing, and subsequently rapidly searching (repeatedly), a single text file, HTML file, XML file or a file of a similar type on a hard disk, memory stick, CD-ROM or similar storage medium. more>> Index Files Search Words Lite 4.70 is created to be a helpful and innovative utility for indexing, and subsequently rapidly searching (repeatedly), a single text file, HTML file, XML file or a file of a similar type on a hard disk, memory stick, CD-ROM or similar storage medium.
Index Files Search Words Lite does not simply search a file for character strings. It indexes every word in a given file, and the file can then be searched for any word in a given set of search words, or all words in that set, or an exact phrase. A report can then be generated (in either text or HTML format) showing the occurrences of the search words (or search phrase) in context.
Index Files Search Words Lite is capable of indexing a file over 1 MB in size, and containing over 50,000 different words. Even with that number of different words a search returns results in a few seconds. The results (presented as extracts from the file, containing the search words) are displayed by the software and can also be displayed in a page in your default web browser.
Note that this software does not act on MS-Word .doc files or Adobe .pdf files (which are binary files) or on HTML files on a server.

Requirements:

- The sizes of the index and data files, which are produced by the index module and used by the search module, depend on the number of files indexed and the number of different words found in those files, and ranges from less than 40 KB to more than 40 MB.
