Then one day a message in a bottle shows up, saying that his grandfather has died and left him his big mansion on Badger Island, somewhere in the Caribbean. So with visions of starting a new life, Herman packs his few belongings and sets out to claim his inheritance. But the thing about bottle mail is that its slow, very slow. So by the time Herman gets to Badger Island, he finds that someone claimed the mansion years ago, and turned it into the sleazy Crippled Badger Motel. Herman decides to spend everything that he has left (which is 12 dollars, 45 cents, and some moss) for one night at the motel, determined to find a way to reclaim what is rightfully his. And this is his story.

Enemies must first be hit from below to flip them over, then touched to kick them off the screen. However, if an enemy is left upside down for too long, it will flip back over becoming faster than before. Coins also come out of the pipes, and they give the player points.
Enemies in the game include:
Shellcreeper: A turtle-like enemy that simply walks around. They take one hit to flip. In Japan they are simply called turtles.
Sidestepper: Crab-like enemies that are slightly faster than Shellcreepers. They take two hits to flip. In Japan they are simply called crabs.
Fighter Fly: Fly-like enemies that hop around on platforms. They can only be hit from below when theyre touching the floor.
Slipice: A block of ice that slides around, until it stops on a random platform and freezes it. Most people today know it as a Freezie.
Additionally there is a small, square block labeled "POW" in each level. If a player hits this block from below, the screen shakes and all the enemies currently on the screen are flipped over.<<less

The only surviving crew member was a furry cheeked sailor named Slash. The adventure begins when Slash regains consciousness among the debris of his former vessel, determined to uncover the secrets of the island, its treasure, and to discover a means of returning home.
Slash is a sugar glider from the distant land of Australia. Roughly the size of a small squirrel, sugar gliders have a membranous flap of skin connecting their forepaw to their hind feet. Sugar gliders can use this layer of skin in order to glide up to 150 feet through the air, jumping from tree to tree to escape the jaws of their predators. Our hero is a seaworthy buccaneer who wears his trusty sabre always at his side. He was a notable sailor aboard his ship, being able to leap from mast to mast seemingly without effort. During his future adventures on Pirate Isle, Slash will be able to run, jump, climb, and glide his way to and past obstacles of all kinds. When strategic maneuvers are not an option, Slash can whip out his sabre to deal death to the most fearsome of foes. Sugar gliders love fresh fruit, so finding such items along the way can rejuvenate or even grant temporary powers to our stalwart marsupial. Using his unique talents, his uncanny wit, and his deft swordsmanship Slash must travel deeper and deeper into Pirate Isle, avoiding natural predators such as sea gulls, giant crabs, and wild boars.
