Host Info description Obtain your computers internet host name and IP address Host Info is a simple command line tool that was designed to gather host information for the local machine: its standard host name (for local access), its network / internet host name, and its IP address. Type HOSTINFO with no parameters. The information returned is the following: Standard host name (for local access) · This is either the single-word name given to your machine (may be simply default) or a fully-qualified Network host name (for network or internet access) · This is the fully-qualified host name by which other machines connected to your network or the internet will recognize you. It is obtained by doing a reverse-lookup on your IP number (we are trusting your machines DNS). When you are not connected to the internet, this will be just localhost. Internet protocol address (IP number) · This is the unique internet protocol address that identifies your computer on the internet. If you have a dynamic IP address this number will change each time you connect to the internet. When you are not connected to the internet, this number will be 127.0.0.1. |

Host application is a command prompt Windows utility ported from FreeBSD Host utility. Host looks for information about Internet hosts. It gets this information from a set of interconnected servers that are spread across the world. By default, it simply converts between host names and Internet addresses. However, with the [-d] or [-a] options, it can be used to find all of the information about this host that is maintained by the domain server (A, MX, NS records, TTL). The arguments can be either host names or host numbers. The program first attempts to interpret them as host numbers. If this fails, it will treat them as host names. A host number consists of IPv4 dotted decimal quad (127.0.0.1). A host name consists of names separated by dots, e.g. www.itsamples.com. |

Defective Records Software proudly introduces VSTi Host, the brand new version of the original Macintosh application that allows VST instrument and effect plugins to be used outside of larger host applications (like Cubase, Logic, etc.). It also allows for sequencers that may not have native support for VST plugins and/or instruments (like ProTools, Vision, Digital Performer, and Metro for example) to use them, as long as the sequencer supports OMS. VSTi Host is perfect if you have an extra Mac that youd like to put to use as a virtual synth and/or effects unit, or if your sequencer of choice doesnt support the VST plugins youd like to use. Previous versions of this software have garnered excellent mentions in Electronic Musician, Sound on Sound (UK), and Recording magazines, as well as in numerous online resources. Whats New in This Release: · Now Universal Binary, supports both Intel and PowerPC Macs. |

HDHost enables you to run the GetDataBack on one computer ("remote") while accessing the drives of another computer ("host"). The "remote" computer runs GetDataBack, the "host" computer runs HDHost. HDHost is a program available for download here. On the host side call the program HDHOST.EXE and configure the desired connection. When done click Wait for connection. On the GetDataBack side, click the Remote Drive button, in Step 1. A new window will pop up requesting you to select and configure the kind of connection. When done click Connect and another window will pop up displaying the available physical drives on the host computer. Select one and you are back in the drive selection screen. Click Ok and the remote drive is loaded. You can establish a two different kinds of connections: Serial communication through RS232 (Com port) TCP/IP communication through a network interface card (NIC) Serial communication is quite slow, therefore you will probably prefer TCP/IP. However, serial communication is easier to setup and every computer is equipped with a serial port. |
