Once youve installed Password Keeper it is always there for you and available. You just click on the little lock icon found on your windows start bar near your clock, this area known as the "tray icon" area shows other programs running as well.
Once you click on the pad-lock icon, password keeper will let you begin logging in. Just enter the Username and Password pair you used the first time you opened Password Keeper, and you are now in and able to access all your password and secured information.
You can also use your right hand mouse button to click on the pad-lock to access other Password Keeper functions quickly.
Once logged into Password Keeper you will see how intuitive it is to use. Organized in a fashion that allows your eye to find just what it is looking for at a glance.
On the left side of the screen you will find your list of password record descriptions. These are organize alphabetically, and can be navigated using the keyboard, the mouse or by clicking on one of the letters below to take you to the first item beginning with that letter. Simple!
On the right side of the screen you will see the details of the password information you selected on the left. Here you will find all the important information you saved about this password, web site, program, or even personal information. You will quickly notice that the most common information you will be looking for is at the bottom of the list, the username/password pair you are looking for.
On the bottom right you have all the necessary commands to create a new password record, as well as copy, modify, and delete an existing password record. All commands are easy to find and intuitive in their use.
If someone tried to view your information using a program other than Password Keeper, your information will be safely kept from their prying eyes. Password Keeper uses state of the art encryption techniques to uniquely scramble your data prior to storing in on your system. Here is a picture of a real Password Keeper data file. As you can see, there is nothing to be learned from looking at this file, the data is safe yet available to you at anytime.

The idea is that it is more secure to give every website a different password. If one site has naughty administrators, or gets hacked, the password wont work for your account on another site. But how can one remember a different password for every site? Dont, let the computer make one for you!
You remember one master password. (It is not stored anywhere, dont forget it!) Then, with a (somehwhat simple) cryptographic hash function, the extension combines your master password and the domain name of the site to make another unique password for that site. The password is not saved in Firefox, or anywhere else. Its secure!
Theres two other nice features that make logging in even easier. You can configure a username and/or an email address to fill in, at the same time that the password is filled in. For advanced users, if you own your own domain, just put "@example.com" (whatever your domain is) for the address, and MPWGen will make a different email for every site too!
How to use it?
First, after installing, right click on your toolbar and choose "Customize". In the window that comes up, youll find a new lock icon, labeled Magic Password. Drag that icon onto your toolbar. Optionally you can now configure a username and/or e-mail address to use.
Now, whenever you go to a website asking for a password to log in, simply click the icon and type your master password in the prompt that comes up. Thats it!
Another note: There is an option labeled "disable password remembering." This option will disable Firefoxes default password remembering feature, for passwords filled out with this extension. When it is on, you can just tap ENTER twice after filling in your master password; the second tap will almost always submit the form.
At another computer?
If you are at a public/shared computer that doesnt have the extension or perhaps Firefox at all, you can use this bookmarklet to do the same password magic. You can also use the form on the same page as the bookmarklet, to find out what your password for any site is.
Help! I forgot my master password, how do I recover it?
The master password is purposely not stored anywhere. There is no recover. There is no reset. It is in your brain only, and perhaps anywhere else you wrote it down.
How do I change the master password for the Password Manager, I forgot it!
There is a feature in Firefox called the "Password Manager". This feature will store your usernames and passwords, so you dont have to remember them. Optionally, you may give that tool a "master password" which it uses to encrypt the data it saves, so that your passwords are not visible to anyone who happens to sit down at your computer. But, I did not write Firefox, and I am not related to that feature!. Dont forget this password, because you cant get it back. You can reset it, but you will erase all the stored data at the same time. But please, dont send me mail about the Firefox Password Manager. It is in no way related to this extension.

Decrypt your password behind the **** (asterisks) mask. Just drag the icon and drop it over the password field and youll get your forgotten password back!
