httpget is a simple command-line program for running scripts on remote web servers. Runs on Win32, Linux, Mac OS X (and possibly other Unix-like OSes).

Often on complex application sites, there are scripts that must run periodically (often nightly) to do housekeeping work. These scripts are often very complex and can take a long time to run, sometimes longer than programs like curl or wget will allow.

httpget will wait for a configurable amount of time (12 hours by default) for the script to finish running. It outputs everything that is received from the remote server for logging purposes. httpget can send usernames and passwords for basic authentication but it cannot hit SSL sites.

VisualPoetry is a little tool that will translate any text into a series of images by looking up the words on Google image search and projecting the most relevant results as a slide show.

You can use it to view your favourite poem as a series of images from the Internet to amuse yourself or you let other people guess which sentence or poem is displayed. Or you can just marvel at the weird pictures streaming from the Internet to your computer.

You can either use the form below to directly try the program. You will then get the pictures/words in a list of boxes. This works fastest, but is visually not as nice as the stand alone program. You can download the program including the source

The program was written in Delphi using a httpget component I found somewhere. You can find the source of the thing below, as well as the executable. All downloaded images are dumped into the current directory, no clean up for now.

CodeLifter description
CodeLifter is a source code viewer used to see code on http:// html pages CodeLifter is a source code viewer used to see code on http:// html pages, including pages blocked under no-right-click scripts, trapped in windows without file menus or url boxes, and referrer pages that cannot be seen in the browser.

With codeLifter you will be able also to access .css (cascading style sheet) scripts, external .js files (JavaScript files), and any other text file at an http:// address.

Unlike most utilities, CodeLfter directly downloads the http:// url you specify. It does not spit back what you already see in your browser, like other tools -- but independently gets code with a separate HTTPGet, so you see the real code.

CodeLifter is ideal for viewing, studying, and copying http:// page and file code. This is the very best and fastest way to learn, as any experienced coder will tell you: Go see how the other guy did it!

CodeLifter will also load defective page code that crashes your browser. Its incredibly useful for troubleshooting -- one of the main reasons we developed the product.

The mpg123+eq patch adds a -Q option to mpg123 0.59r, which displays a 16 band graphical equalizer. EQ can be toggled on or off, and if on during exit, parameters are saved to ~/.eq for restoring the next time mpg123 is started. It can display Artist and Title on an LCD-like display.

Uses code (or at least ideas) from:
