VJPEG now default for JPG, BMP, and GIF, can open PSD. more>> I realized I was spending a lot of time waiting for JPEGs to open, and the default viewer on my system wasnt really hot with large files. I take a lot of digital camera pictures, and viewing a few megapixels in a web browser is ugly.
I have a good bicubic resampler that I use for various things, and so I made a JPEG viewer that uses it to show pictures when you double-click them. It makes them small, to start.
The idea here is "images as objects" so once theyre open, you drag them around the screen by clicking and dragging. Thats it. If you push them against the top or left edge of the screen, they "stick" for a while and resize to stay on the screen (that means you get live zooming.)<<less

There are also options for setting where the image will appear on the screen, and the order in which the images will be displayed. And you can turn individual transitions on or off. The design user-interface allows fast and visual editing, nonetheless the Code view is more effective for the more technical users. I believe the best feature with SC is the ability to recieve and download these low-memory robots. I hope to start up a community where users can dicuss and exchange their projects, eventually ridding the world of unremmiting finger work. Computers were designed and specified for this type of labour, but instead you find humans being slaved into these dreary loops. I am also hoping that other developers will create small apps that will work alongside Stipes to increase its power.<<less
