Analog Box 2.39

Analog Box 2.39

A freeware, circuit based, modular software synthesizer. more>> Analog Box is a freeware, circuit based, modular software synthesizer. You put sound objects on the screen, connect them together, listen and adjust. When you find something you like, you can record it to a wav file, or just save the circuit and play it again later.
ABox is somewhat like the vintage synths of the 70s in that there are separate modules with lots of patch cords, knobs, buttons and displays. But you also get the computational ability offered by modern CPUs. Features like FFTs, Differentials and Digital Control open up realms of sound design never dreamt of before. With the advanced capabilities offered by VSTi, USB/HID, MIDI and DirectShow you could conceivably play your favorite video soundtrack through a plugin adusted by a glove controller. Exciting !
With ABox2, editing virtual circuitry has never been easier. Get objects from the palette, put them where you want, connect them however you like. Adjust parameters using one click popup panels then move on. No questions asked. Make a mistake ? Hit Undo, all fixed. Like that section of circuitry ? Clone it, now you have another one. Really like that section of circuitry ? Group it together, create a new object. Now you can paste it anywhere.

MP3Gain 1.3.4 beta

MP3Gain 1.3.4 beta

Analyzes and adjusts mp3 files so that they have the same volume. There is no quality lost more>>
MP3Gain analyzes mp3 files to determine how loud they sound to the human ear.
It can then adjust the mp3 files so that they all have the same loudness without any quality loss. This way, you dont have to keep reaching for the volume dial on your mp3 player every time it switches to a new song.
MP3Gain operates in two modes, Track and Album:
Track mode volume-corrects a mix of unrelated songs to a selected level. MP3Gain calculates the volume level for each song individually. It then corrects each song to make its volume level match the Target Volume.
For example, if you have 3 songs that have volume levels of 86, 91 and 89 dB and you use Track Gain to convert them to a Target Volume of 92 dB, they will all be at approximately 92 dB.
Album mode volume-corrects a collection of related songs (as they would appear on a CD, or "album") relative to other collections of songs. Applying Album gain is like adjusting the volume knob once for each CD you put in your CD player. The overall volume of the album is adjusted to the Target Volume, but the volume differences between the mp3s in the album are preserved.
For example, if you have 3 songs that have volume levels of 86, 91 and 89 dB, then the overall volume of this "album" will probably be around 89 dB. If the Target Volume is set to 92 dB, then when you apply Album Gain MP3Gain will increase the volume of each of these songs by +3 dB.
With Album mode, you want some songs to be noticeably quieter than other songs, just like they are on an album. If youre playing a classical CD, you expect the track with the flute solo to be quieter than the track with the big full-orchestra finale. Album mode allows you to correct an entire album while keeping each songs volume level relative to the other songs.
MP3Gain can also make changes based on the peak amplitude of the mp3, ignoring how loud the mp3 actually sounds to the human ear.
This peak adjustment is what most audio programs mean by "normalizing". To differentiate between "peak" normalizing and "loudness" normalizing, I use the term "maximizing" when talking about peak normalizing.
Maximizing can be used to make an mp3 as loud as possible without clipping. This can be useful, but keep in mind that this will not make your mp3s the same volume. In fact, if you maximize every track on a CD, some of the original quiet tracks can become louder than the original loud tracks.

GLow 1.0

GLow 1.0

A resonant low-pass filter audio plugin. more>>
A resonant low-pass filter audio plugin. GLow application was designed to be a resonant low-pass filter audio plugin. It has three simple controls and one useful purpose. It filters out frequencies above a user-defined cut-off frequency, and adds variable amounts of resonance at that point.
Automating the "Cut Off" and "Res" (resonance) knobs can add drama to an individual track, a sub-mix, or entire segments of a song at mix-down. With a 0% resonance setting, GLow can be used to restrict the frequency range an instrument or track occupies, without colouring the sound. Because resonance can add substantial peaks to an audio signal, keep an eye on the "Peak" window to help control the changes being made.
The three knobs are presented the same way for consistent and easy identification. Above the knob, its function is labelled. Below the knob, a numerical readout reflects the user adjustments or allows the user to manually specify values. One additional mini-window at the bottom of the GUI shows the peak level of the outgoing signal, in decibels.
System requirements:
- You need a PC running Windows and a VST host.

A monophonic VSTi with three sine oscillators more>>
A monophonic VSTi with three sine oscillators GSinth was designed to be a monophonic VSTi with three sine oscillators. It also features an LFO for controlling the output level. Free VST synthesizer.
Each oscillator has its own "Attack" and "Portamento" setting, allowing interesting, evolving sounds to be created.
The best way to get a feeling for GSinth is by using the "Random" button and then tweaking the parameters.
The "Random" button can create extremely inharmonic sounding settings because of the "Detune" parameters. Holding down "Shift" while clicking on the "Random" button creates better-behaved presets.
Each knob is laid out the same way for consistent and easy reference. Above each one, its function is labelled. Below each one is a numerical readout of the value assigned. There are also two buttons to aid configuration, "Random" and "AutoLevel".

In addition to the knobs, a window to the right provides a visual cue as to how your source material has been affected. The darker "shadow" waveform represents the original source material, while the brighter Cyan shows the resulting post-processing audio.
The signal path is illustrated on the GUI itself. Incoming audio goes first to the Gain and filter stage, after which it is gated and compressed according to user settings, with the resulting waveform displayed to the right. Finally, the user may also apply manual gain to the effected signal.
