Java E-Mail Newsgroup Digest Reader 1.01
Java E-Mail Newsgroup Digest Reader is a smart program that helps you to manage e-mail digests from newsgroups. more>> Java E-Mail Newsgroup Digest Reader is a smart program that helps you to manage e-mail digests from newsgroups.
Java E-Mail Newsgroup Digest Reader is a smart program that helps you to manage e-mail digests from newsgroups.
You may find the program to be very useful if you belong to several e-mail news groups.
Most of these groups allow "digesting" of their output. You get all the news group messages at once, in one huge file. The problem is trying to check each message for interest, and deleting those that are of no interest.
This program shows all message "Subject:" lines and lets you selectively view the contents, and then keep only those messages of interest.
The program can sort the "subject" headers by date, subject, original order, or can thread subjects (by removal of the "re:" entries).
The program offers three ways of separating out the individual articles from the bulk news digest:
- The program can be "trained" to recognize the lines of text used to separate each article. Most newsgroup digest programs place some marker between the articles. You can place the program in "train" mode and tell it which contiguous lines constitute the separator.
At the same time, you also tell the program to look for a particular string near the start of the news digest in order to "auto-recognize" the newgroup and use the appropriate separator template. Once the program is "trained", you should only have to open a new file in "auto-recognize" mode and the program should be able to determine which template to use and separate out the messages.
- The program can try to separate articles by using the e-mail headers only, particularly looking for "Subject:" and "Date:" headers. This method is not particularly reliable. This method was used by the previous versions of the program.
- Once the program is "trained" (see item 1 above) you can force a newsgroup digest to be separated using a particular template. This option bypasses the "auto-recognize" mode.
System requirements:
- This program requires Java of at least level 1.2 (uses Swing).

News32 1.0
News32 will help you manage e-mail digests from newsgroups. more>>
It could also be used to manage e-mail "boxes" that contain many e-mail messages strung together as text. However, this program is very useful if you belong to several e-mail news groups.
Most of these groups allow "digesting" of their output. You get all the news group messages at once, in one huge file. The problem is trying to check each message for interest, and deleting those that are of no interest.
News32 will show all message "Subject:" lines and let you selectively view the contents, and only keep those messages of interest.
This program can also be used to process e-mail "folders" that contain simple e-mail text contents, in which all e-mail messages are strung end-to-end.
RMBAK32 1.0
RMBAK32 is a small, smart and easy-to-use backup and temporary file finder/deleter program. more>>
RMBAK32 is designed to be a very simple user assistant.
Most "finder" programs, such as the one that comes with the Windows Explorer is too complex to use, especially for finding "backup" files with multiple extensions or embedded special names.
An example of the more troublesome backup files to find and eliminate are those generated by Word 97. This program makes the find/delete process quick and simple.
