More importantly, LFT implements numerous other features including AS number lookups, loose source routing, netblock name lookups, et al. Though LFT has been around since 1998, its development effort has just recently resumed.

LFT is the all-in-one traceroute tool because it can launch a variety of different probes using both UDP and TCP layer-4 protocols. For example, rather than only launching UDP probes in an attempt to elicit ICMP "TTL exceeded" from hosts in the path, LFT can send TCP SYN or FIN probes to target arbitrary services.

Then, LFT listens for "TTL exceeded" messages, TCP RST (reset), and various other interesting heuristics from firewalls or other gateways in the path. LFT also distinguishes between TCP-based protocols (source and destination), which make its statistics slightly more realistic, and gives a savvy user the ability to trace protocol routes, not just layer-3 (IP) hops. With LFTs verbose output, much can be discovered about a target network.

Master Layer Lock is an Adobe Illustrator plugin that enables the user to password protect layers.

Changing the name of any layer to begin with "Locked Master" automatically locks the layer until a password is entered. Locked layers can be hidden but not edited or deleted. The plug-in must be installed for layers to be protected.

The layer extract plug-in is a Gimp plug-in that creates a new image/film by periodically extracting layers from another image.

It takes one interval (number of sequent layers) every period. The number of periods can be limited.

When one performs a query for A records by calling gethostbyname(), he gets a list of addresses which should be contacted in the same order as they were received.
