Millennia Calendar Lite is a tool that displays 6 calendars, Julian Day and phases of the Moon for 7 thousand years.
The implemented in the program algorithm is based not on the real Islamic Lunar calendar, but rather on the tabular or schematic calendar developed by Muslim astronomers of the eighth century, which nowadays is used only to convert an Islamic date to a Julian date if no other information is available.
This is explained by the fact, that according to Sharia laws, Moslems determine the beginning of the new month not by the calculation, but by the direct observation of the Moon.

The Chinese Lunar Calendar is a yearly one, with the start of the lunar year being based on the cycles of the moon. Therefore, because of this cyclical dating, the beginning of the year can fall anywhere between late January and the middle of February. This year it falls on February 12th. A complete cycle takes 60 years and is made up of five cycles of 12 years each.
