NetMail-Light 5.24 is a powerful e-mail system used for local networks and mobile access, either with the built-in webmail interface, or using the NetMail client software. Includes groupware functions like a diary with notification pop-up, shared pinboard, and instant messaging window.

Users can read and write e-mails from all LAN workstations. Also optimized for mobile users: highly efficient compression and full-duplex transfer for GSM, GPRS, UMTS, TCP/IP connections. Gateway includes heuristic virus detection and rule-based spam filter so that these e-mails are not forwarded to network or mobile users. Menu language is selectable English or German. (NetMail has its own client software, Outlook etc. cannot be used.)

1. In a local-area office network, NetMail offers groupware functions like e-mail, SMS, dates, pinboard and instant messaging. 2. Even when you are not in your office, you have access to your e-mails. Using the mobile NetMail client, you can dial your server via ISDN, TCP/IP, GSM, GPRS or UMTS. Since NetMail uses a highly optimized and compressed protocol, the connection cost is minimized. Typically the transfer cost is less than 50 % compared to conventional e-mail programs.
3. NetMail can access the Windows/Outlook address book (WAB). Together with CapiFax and CapiCall it can form a Unified Messaging System (UMS) so that voice mails or faxes can be forwarded as e-mails, or to send e-mails to fax numbers. Using a GSM modem like the TC35i even mail to SMS and SMS to mail is possible.
4. A shared calendar, private and shared mail archives, a keyword-driven personal autoresponder, MAPI support for third-party programs, automatic sending of files at specified times by e-mail (e.g. log files) and many other features are built into NetMail. Check out the free add-ons also, like an SMTP module for direct e-mail reception.

After execution the worm will copies itself in Windows %System% directory under the kernel32.exe name, and it will drop the kdll.dll at the same location. To ensure that it will be executed at restart it adds the following registry key: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce\Kernel32 with value kernel32.exe Then it will delete itself from the location where it was executed, and it will gather computer information (like User name, computer name, RAS information, passwords, so on) and sends it to the following e-mail address: uckyjw@hotmail.com

The Worm has two methods of getting e-mail addresses: It search them in *ht* and *.asp files in Internet Cache directory or it gets them with MAPI functions from e-mails received by the infected user. It will not send itself twice to the same address because it keeps the already used e-mail addresses in %SYSTEM%\PROTOCOL.DLL.
