The data moves with the file and independent of the file name. Metadata dont uses any extra databases or file body- it stores with file at NTFS hidden stream.

(Theres also a GUI frontend FLVMDIGUI). FLVMDI optionally saves an XML version of the injected data, and can add an additional string data or save the onMetaData data to an XML file. FLVMDI has some unique functionality, but its not as vital now because flashcom 1.5.2+ and Flash Video Exporter 1.2+ adds the required metadata. (Unfortunately theres still a gotcha with Sorenson Squeeze 4, also see Sorenson Squeeze (4.1) FLV Metadata upate...).
Flash 8 Video Encoder inserts the correct MetaData. Also Sorenson Squeeze 4.2 is released on Sept 20, 2005, hopefully they fixed the metadata issues.

- It only fixes one bug in v1.1.0.0-v1.2.0.0 that only seems to occurs on Windows 7. These older versions generate an Image-UniqueId/System.Image. Imaged meta-data value that is invalid according the XMP spec. It should be the hexadecimal representation of a 128-bit number, which amounts to 32 characters in the range 0-9 or A-F.
- The old format is FlickrId=. The new version uses FF4649. This string will be exactly 32 characters long, which is achieved by padding with 0 characters. An example of a generated Image-UniqueId in the new format is FF464900000000000000003595605328. In the old format this was FlickrId=3595605328. The prefix FF4649 is just a way to distinguish these Image-UniqueIds from others, for example those generated by cameras.
- If the meta-data of a local picture needs updating and already contains a FlickrId in the old form, it will be converted and the Image-UniqueId will be updated.
