Mihov DPI to Pixel Calculator 2 is a highly-efficient, high-quality image management.
When you resize an image you change the number of pixels. In computer world this is how it is done, there is no inches or centimetres. But when you print out an image the printer uses a resolution that is expressed in DPI (dots per inch). Setting up DPI or the inch size for screen images makes little or no sense. And when an image is printed you can clearly see that the picture has a size in inches. How do pixels, DPI, and inches go together.
Enhancements: Version 2 is updated to work with Windows Vista.

Dead Pixel Buddy 1.1
Dead Pixel Buddy is a useful application with the help of which you can test LCD screens for dead pixels more>>
Before trying to grasp the meaning of a dead pixel, first you need to understand the technology behind LCD displays. An LCD display is essentially made up of pixels. Each pixel is made up of red, blue and green valves. The valves in each colour either block or pass the light source. By manipulating the amount of light passed through, each pixel displays a distinctive colour on screen. Pixels consisting of these valves are what make up the image that is ultimately displayed on the screen. A typical monitor has millions of pixels. A dead pixel refers to a pixel with a defect in its ability to display the correct colour output. It may look like a tiny black spot on your screen, or any other colour that does not correspond to what the actual image should look like.
A typical 17 inch monitor contains up to 4 million pixels. Even a tiny dust particle on one of the pixels during the manufacturing process can create a dead pixel. Or a slight bump during shipping can break one of the highly sensitive pixels.
If youve scoured every inch of your screen but cant find a single dead pixel, you are in luck. Because of the complexity of the design, it is generally regarded dead pixels appearing in some products are inevitable. If you need to absolutely make sure whether you have purchased a defective display, you can use this program. It simply paints your entire screen with one of the colours that make up a pixel to make the dead pixel more conspicuous to the naked eye. Run through the red, green and blue colours in turn and check for pixels that do not match.
Enhancements:

Dead Pixel Locator 1.0
Dead Pixel Locator is a powerful application that helps you check the LCD monitor or plasma display for dead pixels more>>
Still, every manufacturer has a dead pixel policy, which you should read carefully. If you find any defective pixels on your new LCD monitor or plasma display during the warranty period, it may qualify for a replacement.
There are 3.9 million sub-pixels (red, green and blue) on a standard 1280x1024 resolution LCD monitor, and each of these is a microscopic transistor.
While the defective rate of pixels on LCD panels and plasma displays is very low, due to the large number of sub-pixels, manufacturers cannot guarantee 100% error-free panels at an affordable price.
To make things more difficult, it is not possible to test any pixels before full assembly of the panel, and fixing any pixels is not possible after assembly.
Dead Pixel Tester 2.30
TFT screens have thousands of pixels, on a 1024x768 monitor, there are three cells for each pixel more>>
Dead Pixel Tester is a software that allows you to check screen pixels on your LCD/TFT monitor.
Theres only a slim chance that all of these will be perfect; more likely, some will be stuck on (creating a "bright" defect) or off (resulting in a "dark" defect). DPT was written to help me check my own screens by cycling through the three primary colours used (red, green, blue) and all on (white) and all off (black).
Simply select a colour then closely inspect your monitor in each of the primary colours checking for pixels that are not operating as expected. Stuck pixels (always on) are easier to noticed then pixels that are not on due to their size (normally under .5mm).
