GhostScript is a tool for converting PostScript to various other formats like JPEG, TIFF, PDF GhostScript is a great application for converting PostScript to various other formats like JPEG, TIFF, PDF (Yes, it can compete with Adobe Acrobat Distiller!).
PStoEdit by Wolfgang Glunz is a separate tool that calls GhostScript and converts to vector formats like AutoCAD DXF and to WMF.
GoBatchGS is a front-end that I made to process multiple PostScript and PDF files, running these tools. Normally GhostScript is run from a command line with numerous options. 100% flexible but not so easy to use.
For single files GSView is a friendlier option. But that didnt offer what I needed: a simple way to process a bunch of PostScript files. So I created GoBatchGS.
The most important output formats are implemented. As well as the most important options like resolution and JPEG quality and even the option to merge PDF output. Also processes and prints directly to HP printers and plotters. More info about GoBatchGS.
Main features:
- Select as many files as you want and convert them to the desired format with simple mouseclicks
- Output to rasterformats JPEG, PNG and TIFF
- Output to mixed formats PDF, EPS
- Output to vectorformats WMF and DXF. NEW (May 06) options for DXF output to polylines or lines; map colors to layers
- Output to printformats PCL and RTL. These can be written to a file or directly spooled to a printer; in the latter case the driverproperties are read and a warning is given if the selected type of driver is suspected to be incompatible with the selected outputformat
- Reorder the list of files
- Automatically determine pagesize by reading the bounding box; for PostScript files that miss pagesize info, but contain a Bounding Box comment (as in AutoCAD PostScript files)
- Merge PDF output, so you can make one multipage document from a group of single PS and PDF files
- Preset joboptions for PDF output ("distiller parameters")
- NEW (May 06) use custom joboptions files (as in Acrobat Distiller, or Indesign) for conversion of PostScript to PDF
- Set the orientation of the output

Panorado Flyer is a small, yet very useful tool for linking JPEG image files to the location where the picture was taken, using geographical coordinates.
JPEG image files can contain supplementary information (Metadata).
Technical metadata as described by the EXIF standard can contain fields for GPS data, like geographical latitude/longitude, altitude, and track. The Panorado Flyer tool enables you to get the coordinates of the place where the picture was shot and insert them into these fields.
You can do it manually, using a dialog window.
Or, if you have installed the Google Earth client (can be downloaded for free), you can search for the location there, drag it to the center of the map window, then change to Panorado flyer, grab the coordinates and insert them into the image selected, without typing any numbers.
Or, if your camera is able to save the location right with the image - fine! (Only supported by a few brands.)
Later - on a few mouseclicks again - you can make Google Earth "fly" you to the location!
Panorado Flyer has been implemented as a so-called shell extension. I. e., you right-click on a JPEG image within the Windows Explorer to bring up the context menu, then select "Panorado Flyer", and then a submenu command.

Gabes TypOmeter is a tool that was designed to display live information about users desktop activity Gabes TypOmeter is a tool that was designed to display live information about users desktop activity.
Like:
- The speed you are currently typing with;
- measured both as keypresses pr minute - KPM, and as Words pr minute - WPM.
Gabes TypOmeter counts the number of keystrokes, words and mouse clicks pr day, and the total number of keystrokes and mouseclikcs you have performed ever. Finally you get some rough statistics about what kind of keys you have typed.
Main features:
Mouse Click counter
- The Mouse Click counter shows the number of mouse clicks you have performed since you started the TypOmeter.
Speedometer
- The Speedometer shows the speed you are typing with. The speed is measured in keystrokes pr minute. The range of the speedometer is from zero to 900 keystrokes pr minute. The speedometer scale has indicators for every 150 keystrokes pr minute.
Max Speed indicator
- The Max Speed indicator shows the the maximum speed you have typed with the last ten seconds. It uses the same scale as the Speedometer. If you concentrate on the typing a while, you can watch this indicator afterwards to check how fast you typed the last couple of sentences.
Over All Total counter (x1000)
- The Over All Total counter shows number of thousands keypress and mouseclicks you have performed ever. (At least as long as you have used the TypOmeter...)
Key Press counter
- The Key Press counter shows the number of keypresses you have performed since you started the TypOmeter.
Word Counter
- The Word Counter shows you how many words you have typed. This feature works best while writing prosa, i.e. like writing a Word-document. Please also see the the Word pr minute indicator.
Max Speed Reached indicator
- This inidcator will get red if your typing speed exeeds 900 keystrokes pr minute, which is the limit of the TypOmeter.
Kind Of Key indicators
- In the bottom section of the TypOmeter, the Kind Of Key indicator is inlayed. This inicator shows what kind of keys you have pressed today. The whole length of the Kind Of Key indicator represent 100% of the key hits you have pressed, as shown in the Key Press Counter. The indicator has marks for every ten percent.
Bad Key indicator
- The red area shows the amount of BackSpace and Delete Key-hits you have performed today, in percent of total keypresses. The red area should of course be as small as possible.
Special Key indicator
- The blue area shows the amount of specialkey-hits you have performed today. Special keys are keys like F1..F12, Up, Down, PageUp, Home etc...
Good Key indicator
- The green area shows the amount of ordinary Ascii keys you have typed today. Ascii keys are keys like all alphabetical keys ("A".."Z"), numbers (0..9), space, and all the other keys that is a part of any text. These keys are considered as the most productive ones...
Word pr Minute indicator - WPM
- The small indicator on the outer edge of the TypOmeter is a Word pr Minute indicator. As the name tells, this shows your typing speed in Words pr Minute. The scale goes from 0 to 90 words pr minute. The Word pr Minute statistics is added to the Type Recorder, so you can see statistics over the last five minutes how fast you have been typing.
Average Word pr minute indicator
- This tiny little indicator shows your average typing speed, measured in Words pr Minute. It only measures when you actually are typing, so all the idling time during a day does not count.
- You identify this indicator simplest since it will be the leftmost stable indicator on the outer edge.
Max Word pr minute indicator
- This small indicator is the maximum speed you have been typing with today, measured in Word pr Minute.
- You identify this simplest since it will be the rightmost stable indicator on the outer edge.
Average Key Press Speed indicator
- This shows your average speed, measured in Key Presses pr minute. It only measures when you actually are typing, so all the idling time during a day does not count.
- You identify this indicator simplest since it will be the leftmost stable needle of the centered needles.
Max Key Press Speed indicator
- This small indicator is the maximum speed you have been typing with today, measured in Key Presses pr Minute.
- You identify this indicator simplest since it will be the rightmost stable needle of the centered needles.
Hours working in front of Computer
- This indicator shows you how many hours and minutes you have been actively working in front of the computer today. If you does not type or click anything in a two minute period, it is considered as you has left the computer, and this timer stops. The timer starts ticking again the next time you "touch" the computer.
- This value is stored in the History, available from the History menu - so you can watch how many hours you have been working in front of the computer every day in the past.
Hours at work today
- This indicator shows how many hours and minutes you have been at work today. That means, this timer starts in the morning at your first keypress or mouseclick/move, (you dont need to restart the TypOmeter in the morning), and will therefore show you how many hours you have been at work today. It will stop in the evening when you turn off/leaves the computer (You dont need to turn off the TypOmeter in the evening). The difference beteween this timer and the "Hours working in front of Computer" will be the time you have spent in meetings, lunch or whatever...
- This value is stored in the History, available from the History menu - so you can watch how many hours you have been at work every day in the past.
