Preferred Filter Tweaker 1.9 would be very useful for people who have to work with video clips a great deal as it allows you to configure your preferred DirectShow filters with just a few mouse clicks. It is quick, easy, and changes can always be undone. If you for example prefer to use ffdshow or CoreAVC for decoding H.264 video then you can do so by using this tool.

This tool is particularly useful for the Microsoft players, such as Windows Media Player and Media Center. Certain advanced third party players, such as Media Player Classic, are already capable of using third party filters without using this tool.

Please note that the changes that this tool makes to the preferred filter settings of Windows only have effect when a player uses DirectShow.

The purpose of ReClock is to definitely get rid of jerky playback of AVI and MPEG material on a PC (or a PC connected to a TV).
Its a DirectShow filter which is loaded in place of the default directsound audio renderer.
It provides a new reference clock that is locked to the video card hardware clock, in order to ensure that frames are played at the exact speed of what is expected by the video card vertical sync.
It also provides a frame rate adaptator for media files that do not match a multiple of the video card refresh rate.
Finally it is an audio renderer with hardware or software rate adaptation in real-time, multi-channel audio, and dynamic range compression capabilities.

Known problems and issues :
- ReClock may not correct the good video clock for videocards with dual head capabilities or 2 RAMDACS (Matrox, GeForce4 MX, ...). If you have such a card, please read the readme for instructions
- On Windows 98, ReClock cannot always see that you change resolution of activate/desactivate TV-out while a video is playing. It is safer to quit your player before to do that, and relaunch it after.
- Graphedit cannot save a graph with ReClock when ReClock is selected as active reference clock
- Morgan Stream Switcher does not work with ReClock (wont load if ReClock is used)
- VSync correction and frame rate detection will not be possible when playback of DVD use DXVA mode

Enhancements:
- New: Support for Blu-ray playback with ArcSoft TMT
- New: Added hotkey to show the properties window (default is CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+R)
- New: Hotkeys can be modified (currently via regedit only, sorry)
- New: Config tool doesnt need to run under admin account
- New: Added option to accept SPDIF as input (disabled by default). This is important, because Windows Media player under Vista will always try to use SPDIF if possible, which isnt quite the right way when using ReClock.
- Change: Removed obsolete option to make ReClock the default renderer
- Change: uses proper OS function to register the hotkeys to avoid conflicts. As a side effect, this could cause slightly improved playback
- Change: logfile location will be the users desktop
- Fix: Sync problems when using the real time AC3 encoder. Fixes startup problems with PowerDVD and TMT. Works fine now! :-)
