TickStation Daily allows you to maintain a complete and accurate historical equity database for thousands of instruments You can either update your database on demand or download nightly at a specific time. Historical quotes are download them from the internet and stored in a user-configurable text format. Complete stock histories are updated from the internet at the rate of about 25 instruments per minute and daily incremental updates at the rate of about 1000 per minute.
Such a database is essential for the purpose of offline analysis with your favorite charting package or developing, backtesting, and implementing strategies for automated quantitative trading. Clicking on any symbol gives you an instant chart of the data or a tabular listing. Clicking on any folder gives a tabular listing of the daily close information.
Automated stock trading strategies can be randomly generated, backtested, and optimized using a novel genetic programming algorithm. Successful strategies can be run on the daily-updated database so that real trading strategies can be implemented. Strategies can be optimized over thousands of stock histories in order to verify the soundness using raw statistics.

If you run your own server on a broadband connection that doesnt have a static IP address and you want one or more of your domain names to always point to your current dynamic IP address, then IPTarget can help you.
Many dynamic IP DNS solutions rely on an external server to determine your public IP address. This is an excellent solution, but for many network configurations the public IP address can also be obtained from the web interface on one of the networking devices.
For example, I currently have three networking devices in my home setup: a DSL modem, a VOIP box, and a router. Before I configured my DSL modem to be in pass-through mode, it obtained the public IP address. Now the VOIP box is configured to obtain the public IP address. In either case, the public IP address could be obtained by viewing one of the "Status" pages in the network devices web interface.
IPTarget performs periodic HTTP requests to your network device to obtain the current IP address. If the IP address changes, it will automatically update all the DNS records for your ZoneEdit managed domain(s).
Main features:
- Simple and small installation program with uninstall. A shortcut to the program is placed under your Start menus "Programs" folder.
- All options are accessible through a multi-tabbed dialog box.
- The IP address is parsed with a regular expression. The regular expression must contain the special token %IP% in the position where the IP address will be parsed. This ensures that a valid IP address is parsed.
- Optionally, it can e-mail you when an error occurs, when the IP address changes, or nightly with the current IP address.
- More than one domain in ZoneEdit can be updated.
- All IP addresses defined under each domain are updated.
- You can manually trigger an IP address query or a ZoneEdit update.
Enhancements:
- A new option to log to daily log files has been added.
- How embarassing, version 1.0.5 wouldnt even run after a fresh install because of a bug handling a non-existent configuration file. This has been fixed.
- When an error occurs, it was displayed along with a stack trace. And it wasnt cleared until the IP address changes and ZoneEdit was updated. The status text area is now managed much better and reflects the status of the last operation. Also, stack traces arent displayed, just the exception text.
