Internet Notification is a free utility for internet connection detection.

Users receive notification when their computer is connected or disconnected from the internet.

NOTE: FG/BG Color setting has not been implented yet, but its still in the prefs.

To add site icons, make sure news-notification is not running, otherwise your config will get overwritten.

1. Get the sites favicon.ico, http://www.website.com/favicon.ico or view the main page source and look in the header for "shortcut icon"
2. Load up favicon.ico on your favorite graphics editors, save it as a .png file
3. Copy the png file into $HOME/.news-notification
4. Edit $HOME/.news-notification/config
5. Under the proper feed channel add < icon >icon.png< /icon >

Notification Center is a Prefs Pane that allows you to perform actions when you lose your wireless connection or your computer sleeps or wakes or a bluetooth device comes in range or different applications launch or quit.

Simply choose what action you want to be performed when different things happen by using the drop down menu. A description of when the action will be performed will be next to the popup menus. Once you have configured it you must go to the "Notification Center" Tab and click the "Start Notifying" button.

Limitations:

· 7 day trial period.

SBPop automatically polls your internet mailbox for incoming mail.. If new mail is detected, it can sound an audio alert and/or flash its icon to let you know that mail is available.

SBPop sits in your windows system tray (the little bar that runs across the bottom of your windows desktop). It constantly monitors your email server and when a new email arrives on the server, it will display a flashing indicator and optionally play an email notification sound.


You can select a generic email notification sound for all email messages, or select different sounds for different senders. In addition, you can set the sounds to play only once, or to play constantly.

Events notification plugin is an external plugin created to send messages about events generated by the Advanced Serial Data Logger software.

Once an event occurs (for example: "Port opened" or "Configuration changed"), the plugin creates a text message using the specified template and sends a notification. The form of the notification depends on the plugin settings.

The plugin supports the following notification types:

· Sending messages via e-mail;
· Sending a message to a remote computer on the network (Windows NT/2000/XP Messenger Service);
· Opening a message box on the local computer;
· Launching a program or script;
· Playing a sound;

The google index notification tool lets you keep track of what pages google is indexing on your site. This is a free tool, and anyone can use it. The query tool will show you which pages are being indexed.

GIN will even notify you via email when google indexes a page. This is a great feature when adding a new site, and wanting to know when google indexes you. The tool is very easy to setup.

All you have to do is include, or require the php script we provide you with below, into your code on your site.

Google Index Notification is a track keeper of pages that google is indexing on your personal site.

Download the file and unzip it in the root directory of your web documents. ( Files unzipped: README.TXT, gin.php )
Edit the gin.php file. Setup the variables according to your account information received via email when you registered.
On the pages you want indexed, require the gin.php file. To be safe use the full path to the file. e.g.

Once google indexes a page, you will be notified via email ( if you enabled it in gin.php ). You can then goto the query tool here.

On a database driven website such as a blog, its best to "require" this in the Template file. If thats not possible, including it in the php file that gets executed most is best.
