Shell Tools 1.1.0 is released to be a helpful and creative collection of free Unicode-aware Windows shell extensions and utilities. This package contains updated versions of old shell extensions FontLoader, FileNote, RegisterEx, CopyURL and new ones, including nice control panel that allows you to control all the extensions in one place.

Major Features:

1. Shell extensions
   • Copy Filename - Copy filenames of selected items to the clipboard
   • Filenote - Allows you to add comments to files by creating text file that has the same name as selected file and opening it for editing in text editor (Notepad or another). If such text file already exists, it will be opened for editing.
     
   • Show Hidden Files and Show File Extensions commands in folder background menu. This is a quick way to toggle global Windows Show Hidden Files and Show File Extensions folder options, that are otherwise buried deep inside folder options window. Note that this functionality requires Windows XP SP2 or newer operating system.
     
   • FontLoader - Add Load/Unload/Install/Uninstall commands to context menu of font files (TrueType, OpenType and TrueType Collections supported). Windows Vista UAC is supported.
     
   • CopyURL - Copy different information from one or more selected favorites items (internet shortcuts) to the clipboard. You can customize the commands to make up your own copy strings.
   • RegisterServer - Will add Register Server and Unregister Server commands to context menu of DLL, OCX and EXE files that export DllLoadLibrary and DllUnloadLibrary functions, allowing you to register/unregister COM servers with ease, by right-clicking. Windows Vista UAC is supported.
2. Utilities
   • Fresh Icons - Force Windows to rebuild icons. Run it when you see wrong icons displayed for your files/shortcuts.
   • FontLoader tray icon - Load/unload/install/uninstall fonts by folders from system tray.
3. Control panel

Enhancements:

• Option "Show only when Shift key is down while invoking context menu" for all shell extension modules. By enabling this your Shell Tools module commands are only visible in context menu when Shift key is held down while invoking the menu. Useful to declutter context menus and to move less often used commands out of sight.
• FolderBackground has new toggle command "Show file extensions".
• Modules now add commands to shortcut files as well.
• FontLoader tray icon now supports Vista/7 UAC.
• FontLoader tray icon allows you to revert up to 3 last actions. For example, if you installed fonts, there is menu item to do opposite action, on this case Uninstall, without digging into sub-menus.
• FontLoader anf FontLoader tray icon do not show annoying error messages when unloading or uninstalling fonts that were not currently loaded or installed.
• FIX: If one of AnyFile commands was hidden then another on certain case invoked wrong function.
• FIX: RegisterServer carshed shell when right-clicking on some compressed and/or encrypted .exe files.

• Note: does not include 64-bit shell extensions, so if you install on 64-bit platform shell extensions only work in 32-bit programs
