OpenXML/ODF Translator Add-ins for MS Office Word. more>> The goal for this project is to provide translators to allow for interoperability between applications based on ODF (OpenDocument) 1.0 standards and Microsoft OpenXML based Office applications. As a part of this interoperability initiative, add-ins are being developed that can be installed on top of Microsoft Office Word (document processing), Excel (spreadsheet) and PowerPoint (presentation) applications (Office 2007 / 2003 / XP version) to allow for opening and saving OpenDocument format / ODF files (.odt, .ods and .odp) that adheres to ODF 1.0 specifications. We also provide command line translator utilities that allow doing batch conversions.
The converter is based on XSL transformations between two XML formats, along with some pre- and post-processing to manage the packaging (zip / unzip), schema incompatibility processings and the integration into Microsoft Office applications like Word, Excel and PowerPoint. We chose to use an Open Source development model that allows developers from all around the world to participate & contribute to the project.
Along with the Add-ins for Microsoft Word, Excel (under development) and PowerPoint (under development), we also provide a command line translator that allows doing batch conversions. These translators can also be run on the server side for certain scenarios.<<less

It uses the Mozilla Application Framework. We chose this framework because it allows us to get a reasonable-quality viewer done in a very short time. Unfortunately, this also means that some features, like pagination and multiple-column layout, cannot be implemented.<<less

Free corrupt Word 2007 DOCX, Excel 2007 XLSX, PowerPoint 2007 PPTX, Open Office Writer, Open Office Calc & Open Office Impress data/text salvage service. Upload your corrupt Office 2007 or Open Office file and get back the original data or text so it does not need to be retyped or re-entered, just reformatted. MS Office 2007 and Open Office files are conventionally zipped collections of mostly XML files and auxillary media files. This service ignores both zip corruption and XML malformedness. MS Office 2007 on its own appears to be able to correct zip corruption of its respective documents, however from the errors it returns it seems to use conventional XML modules to read the internal XML parts. Almost all software for reading XML files are intolerant of XML malformedness. Even one character corruption error can cause the file to be unreadable. The software that drives the web service does not have that issue.
