HJ Install can create install directories, copy files into them, create program-groups and -items, copy whole directory structures, and interact with the end-user.
HJ-Install is a freeware installer for Windows 95, 98, ME, NT 4.0, 2000 and XP. It is created with Internet distributed, CD-Rom, single-floppy and multi-floppy installations in mind, but it can also be used in network situations and as a stand-alone scripting engine.

Palm Direct Install 0.2 is well-known as a flexible program to increase the easiness of file exchange between a PC and Palm OS handhelds and to substitute or supplement the Quick Install utility. It installs .prc or .pdb files instantly into memory without launching synchronization process. Although most installations now come in a Single File installation format, either an MSI or one EXE file, some installs still need to be bundled up, especially if it comes from a CD.
While repackaging with an application such as Wise is usually the preferred method, some installs can be zipped up into a self-extracting executable and the primary setup file called once the necessary setup files are extracted.
The Quick Install Maker bundles up an existing installation source directory into a self-extracting executable.
This simply means that it creates a zip file that will automatically extract its contents to a specified location. You can also specify the setup file to call with any parameters necessary to run a silent installation.
