Make SFX is a free program that lets you make self-extracting archives under Win32 platform. You can create a SFX module simple in three steps:
- Select source folder containing the files you want to pack into SFX module.
- Select executable file from the source folder. This file will be executed after SFX unpack.
- Enter the name of the target SFX file.
Make SFX is particularly usable for creating installation programs.

Depending on the packed file types, you can choose from 3 types of packing:
- Application pack: This is for packing other applications. You can select multiple executables, dynamic link libraries [.DLL] and any other files. After that, select one main executable [by clicking the Set main .EXE button] that will be launched when the pack is launched by the user.
- WebPage pack: If you have a webpage / website and you want to transport it in a compact way, this type of pack is the option you need to select. You can pack .HTM / .HTML files and select one index file [by clicking on the Set index file button] with which the executable shall start when the pack is launched. Ofcourse, you can also include pictures of any kind, or any other files. You can also choose a caption for your "website".
- Picture Slideshow: If pictures are what you want to compact, then select this option. It create a slideshow of pictures/images. The created executable is fully customizable: background color, title, items displayed, animation type.

The file works just as it did before it get packed and in some cases it even starts up faster than the original since smaller file needs to be loaded into memory. This is achieved by storing a very small decompressor inside every packed file which unpacks the packed content directly into memory.
Due to high compression algorithms used file size can be reduced down to 30% of the original size. This is higher compression ratio than one in WinZIP.
But RLPack can do much more. In its Full version RLPack can protect your application from modification by checking CRC of the packed executable.
RLPack can make sure that there is only one copy of your program running. It can also protect the packed file from being unpacked by all known generic unpacker used by crackers to deprotect the application, after which application can be cracked.
Another feature is the ability to sign every packed executable so that you can track how your executables distribute over the web or so that you can find out if the copy of the program has "fallen" into wrong hands.
Signature can be read even if the application has been unpacked and it is not longer protected by RLPack wrapping shell. But this is not all. RLPack can decrease the size of your program?s installation by enabling you to remove common runtime .dll files such as MSVBVM600.dll from the installation.
If this common .dll file is not located on your customer computer RLPack will show download dialog which will download missing .dll file(s) from your website after which application will be started normally.

PRIVATE FOLDER manages a secret directory in which you can store a tree of file folders. Private Folder is a regular directory, which can be managed out of KPKFile interface too. Distinct Private Folders can be created by different passwords; hence many users are allowed to have their own Private Folder on same computer. Besides, Private Folder encrypted files can be moved to a server protecting data against local HD failure. So, the same Private Folder can be shared by different workstations in LAN too. Each folder data are automatically saved into selected directory (default: WINDOWS or WINNT). Recent data are stored in (xxxx).dat file. The (xxxx).ol?x? archives retain last sessions.
KPKFile includes blowfish-twofish algorithms, encryption algorithms provided by VB.NET environment, and an encryption algorithm proprietary to the author. Moreover, KPKFile Pro comes with a tool allowing you to encode credit card data in a simple and safe way too. Eventually, the program can perform automatic clearing of Internet Explorer History (IE typed urls), recent documents menu (recent docs list), and items in the run command history (run MRU list).
