Sonnet Firmware Updater installs the Sonnet Firmware Updater and Sonnet Firmware Remover applications to your computers Mac OS X Applications folder.

Sonnet Firmware Updater will install the firmware patch that is necessary to support Encore/ZIF (700 MHz and faster) and various Encore/ST processor upgrades in the listed compatible computers.

Sonnet Firmware Updater will read the onboard ROM of a New World PowerPC based PowerMac G3 or G4, patch it, and reprogram the ROM. A companion application called Sonnet Firmware Remover will remove the patch.

If you installed Quark 6 in your system, most probably you will have an item called "QXPScriptingAdditions.osax" in your "/Library/ScriptingAdditions" folder, which "provides internal scripting support for QuarkXPress".
But a bad aete design inform us about this using a command called "NOTE", which means that:
display dialog "hello" with icon note
wont work anymore, since it will map to:
display dialog "hello" with icon NOTE
which will throw an error.

This patch simply renames such command to "NOTEx", so it doesnt interferre with your dialog scripting work.

Apply the patch
Open your "/Library/ScriptingAdditions" folder, pick the item "QXPScriptingAddition.osax" and drop it into the patcher, "QXPScriptingAdditions Patch".
It will generate a new fresh copy of such addition and will rename the old one to "old_QXPScriptingAddition.osax". Remove this from the ScriptingAdditions folder, and keep it in a safe place, just in case you need it again.
Now, you can script your "icon note" again!

Patch Maker helps you manage multiple in-progress source code patches to software. Patch Maker remembers which files are part of which patch, and keeps them disentangled during the development process.

The xterm program is the standard terminal emulator for the X Window System. xterm patch provides DEC VT102/VT220 and Tektronix 4014 compatible terminals for programs that cant use the window system directly.

If the underlying operating system supports terminal resizing capabilities (for example, the SIGWINCH signal in systems derived from 4.3bsd), xterm will use the facilities to notify programs running in the window whenever it is resized.

I decided to work on this in early 1995, to support ded and add (and incidentally ncurses) in the X environment. Several people had made modifications to xterm to support color, but none (except for the completely independent rxvt) implemented background color erase. That is rather like preferring MS-DOS to UNIX. Completely mystifying.

Being bogged down in ncurses, I didnt get involved in xterm until the very end of 1995, after working on atac.

I implemented a workable version of colorized xterm just at the point where XFree86 3.1.2B was announced, complete with a color xterm. As luck would have it, theyd incorporated the "old" color model. So I joined the XFree86 project to fix it.

As I learned more about xterm, I realized that it implemented part of VT220 (i.e., the locking shifts for extended character sets). Since a number of people on the Internet are looking for a good VT220 emulator, it seemed a natural follow-on project to make xterm a good VT220 emulator.

By the release of XFree86 3.2, I had implemented most of the control sequences, except for a handful (DECSTR, the KAM and SRM modes, the ones pertaining to doublesize and soft characters, and of course, blink).

DVD Player Patch modifies the DVD Player that ships with Mac OS X 10.3 (a.k.a. Panther) or 10.4 (a.k.a. Tiger) so that it always honors user action. This means, you will be able to fast forward even if the movie is trying to prevent you from doing so, forcing you to view boring ads for a minute or two.

Ever watched a foreign country movie with its original soundtrack and being forced to read a poor translation at the same time? You should be able to switch forced subtitles off.

You will also be able to change the audio language on the fly.

You might have heard about this with different words, such as DVD "User Prohibition", UOP, "User Operation Prohibition" or "Prohibited User Operations", a "functionality" that gives the movies publisher control over your DVD player remote control, deciding which buttons you can use and which you cant. This patch takes that control away from the publisher, and hands it back to you. Dont blame Apple (or your topset player manufacturer) for this, blame the movie industries that enforce this through their license system.

Lastly, this patch also removes the restriction introduced in Mac OS X 10.3.5 where an internal DVD drive is required to run the DVD Player.

This patch is localization independent : while the patching tool it is in English only, once applied, the DVD Player will benefit from it, whatever language you use.

Chipcard-Patch is intended to be a patch for Mac OS X 10.4 and MacGiro. Its major function is that it permits the user to start the chip card reader system services (pcscd) and thus use chip card readers at an arbitrary point of time when needed. In addition it is a quick launcher for MacGiro (which is an online banking application used in Germany) allowing a certain MacGiro database to be opened directly.

Localized in German and English. Very easy to install and unistall (drag and drop).

Background:
Due to a bug in Mac OS X 10.4.0 the process pcscd is not automatically started when a chip card reader is attached, so a card reader can normally only be used if it is connected to the computer before system start and if it remains connected permanently. This program allows the user to easily start the chip card reader services at any desired point of time so that the card reader can be connected and used only when needed. The program checks if the process pcscd is running (as root) and attempts, if necessary, to start it (this requires an administrator password to be entered). (The application makes sure that only a single instance of pcscd runs, this single instance being run as root.)

The advantage of this program over other methods to cope with this problem is that it doesnt change any system files. Possible updates to Mac OS X that deal with the chip card services are thus not affected by the installation of this program. Likewise, these updates dont interfere with this program since this program only launches pcscd if necessary.

To avoid that the user first needs to start pcscd using this program and then must open the desired MacGiro database by clicking on the appropriate database file (or opening MacGiro and then opening the database using the "Open" menu item), this program permits opening a specified MacGiro database immediately after pcscd has been started. This way a simple click on the application symbol can launch the card reader services and open a MacGiro database afterwards. This function can also be used as a quick launcher for MacGiro, independetly of the chip card patch function (due to a bug in MacGiro the user setting to automatically open the last opened MacGiro database the next time is not respected).

Finally, the application can terminate itself automatically after a certain idle time (after having performed its services).

Whats New in This Release:

· Added a small delay before starting pcscd to give enough time for killing of processes (if applicable) to complete.
