XML Benchmark Tool 1.0.1
XML performance measurement tool more>> The XML Benchmark Tool (XBT) provides a framework that allows a user to analyze the performance of various XML processing engines such as the Intel XML Software Suite, and compare the results. The XML Benchmark Tool allows performance testing of XML parsing (SAX and DOM), XSLT, XML Schema validation, and XPath operations. It is also extendable, allowing a user to write their own drivers to test other XML processing engines.<<less
OpenGL Geometry Benchmark 1.0
OpenGL Geometry Benchmark tests the geometry power of miscellaneous video cards more>>
OpenGL Geometry Benchmark can test many combinations of technics, vertex formats, primitives. This test does not benchmark any kind of fillrate or texturing capabilities, which explains the small window and the lack of textures.
OpenGL Geometry Benchmark can test many combinations of geometry formats, and also use the NVidia and ATI extensions that provide access to video or AGP memory. This is later refered as a static vertex array ( Video ) or a dynamic vertex array ( AGP ).

Soft Shadows Benchmark 1.5.4
Focused on the pixel processing unit (pixel pipelines). more>> This OpenGL benchmark is focused on the pixel processing unit (pixel pipelines). A 3D scene with 5 objects and 3 dynamic lights is rendered. Each object casts soft shadows and the filtering of soft shadows is performed by a 7x7 filter. The benchmark exploits the latest 3D features like the vertex buffer objects (VBO), the framebuffer objects (FBO) and a GL 2.0 codepath. This benchmark is based on an experimental branch of the oZone3D engine (v3.x).
The filtering of the shadow edges is the biggest difficulty of soft shadows and it is a very GPU power consuming task. So this benchmark can be used to quickly know the performances in OpenGL 2.0 of the new graphics cards generation. Besides, the benchmark has two modes of running: with and without dynamic branching in the pixel shader. The mode with dynamic branching is new and allows to see the impact of this fundamental functionality of the shader model 3.0.
The benchmark offers two Options:
Use Dynamic Branching: enables the dynamic branching in the pixels shaders.
Fullscreen: starts the benchmark in fullscreen mode. In Benchmark Mode, the Fullscreen option is automatically selected.
Due to the large number of texture lookup in the pixel shaders, the Soft Shadows Benchmark requires at least a GeFORCE 6*** and higher or a Radeon X1*** and higher.<<less
PCMark04 Build 120
Application-based benchmark and a premium tool for measuring overall PC performance more>>
PCMark04 supports the complete benchmark cycle ? allowing
you to benchmark your PC, view the resulting benchmark details, compare your results to those of others, and finally analyze how to improve your PC performance.
PCs continue to improve at a dizzying pace. As each PC component ? CPU, system memory, graphics card, hard disk, etc. ? increases in speed or capacity, it becomes increasingly difficult for the home user to evaluate benefits of these changes.
Software applications that may or may not take advantage of the latest hardware add further to the confusion. The goal of PCMark is to solve this problem by providing an easy-to-use tool that outputs easy-to-understand performance figures.
PCMark04?s system score is a single, globally recognized number that represents the overall PC performance for home usage. It also produces several component scores. The complete benchmark data available to the user consists of results from 70 tests and over 300 pieces of detailed PC configuration information.
As benchmark results are useless in isolation, the user can take the next step and submit the results to Futuremark?s Online resultBrowser (ORB).
The ORB allows the user to compare the results to millions of other benchmark results in Futuremark?s benchmark databases. With this comparison, the strengths and weakness of the user?s PC are
revealed.
Tests include:
- System Test Suite
- CPU Test Suite
- Memory Test Suite
- 2D and 3D Graphics Test Suite
- Hard Drive test Suite
- And more.
When you have downloaded your free version of PCMark04 it does have limited functionality. You purchase the PCMark04 Pro license ($19.95USD) in order to get all those amazing Pro features and tests enabled from the authors site.
Features:
- System Test Suite, presenting the PCMark score.
- Memory Test Suite, giving Memory score.
- CPU Test Suite, giving CPU score.
- Graphics test suite giving a Graphics score
- HDD Test Suite and HDD score.
- Customizable test run including multithreaded tests.
- Online services. Submit your results and compare them to PCMark04 results from all over the world.
For reliable benchmarking, we highly recommend that you familiarize yourself with these testing guidelines:
- Restart the computer before running the benchmark.
- Exit all other programs.
- Under the 32-bit Windows operating systems, other tasks can preemptively run during the tests, thus affecting the results. You will want to eliminate as many of these types of tasks as possible, such as automatic updates in operating systems, e-mail clients or other tasks from your StartUp folder. This action also maximizes your available memory.
- Disable all file sharing and possibly also all network connections. Background network activity may affect results. You can submit your results even if you run the benchmark without network connection. Save your results in the default format (.pcr) and restart your system with network connection after the benchmark run. Run PCMark04 and submit your saved result by selecting the Submit Saved Result item in the right click menu (open the right click menu by right clicking the PCMark04 main window).
- Follow a standard testing procedure each time you run the tests. Run the tests at least three times to verify that the results are reproducible.
- Before running the HDD tests, the target drive should be first defragmented in order to receive accurate results.
