PCMark2002 measures generic PC performance in home and office use. It is a small download that is easy to install and run.
The program does not include whole applications for measuring the performance but instead, PCMark measures the computers performance on a lower level.
The software has a series of benchmarking tests that represent common tasks in home and office activities but does not emulate whole applications.
PCMark2002 also tests memory and hard disk drive performance. The memory tests consist of a series of operations that transfer data to and from the memory in different sizes, as well as performing random-like accesses.
