PDF24-creator 2.6.1 is released to be a helpful and innovative program to create pdf files from almost any application. The PDF software is a free PDF creator to create PDF files from any type of document. With the PDF creator you can convert documents into pdf files very easily. The PDF creator acts as a PDF printer.

1. Create PDF files out of any application with print option: You can create PDF files out of any application which provides a print option. PDF creation is done by a virtual printer which will be installed by setup and which is named pdf24. Printing something on that printer creates a PDF of that content which was printed.
2. PDF creation assistent: A pdf creation assistent opens after printing something on the PDF printer. The assistent has some basic functionality such as view, save, send or edit the created PDF. Setting a PDF profile to create a PDF with a particular quality is possible too.
3. Convert documents (Word, Excel, Bilder, ...) automatically to PDF: The PDF24 Creator contains a component to convert different documents and images to PDF. To convert documents open the PDF24 Creator and drag & drop documents from the integrated explorer into the right window area. The PDF24 Creator then converts these documents to PDF.
4. Set/Change document properties such as author and title of a PDF: With PDF24 Creator you can set and modify PDF document properties. Open the PDF24 Creator, drag & drop a document into the right window area, open the documents context menu by right click on the name and choose properties there.
5. Easy installation with only some clicks: The installation of the PDF24 Creator is very easy. Download a setup from pdf24.org and execute it by a double click. The setup assistent guides you through the installation process. After the setup assistent has completed successfully the PDF24 Creator and the PDF printer pdf24 is ready for use.
6. PDF printer driver with lots of possibilities: The installed PDF printer driver contains a lot of useful features. When printing a document in an application printer properties can be opened at printer selection. In this properties you can choose a colored or black/white print, print multiple pages on one page, landscape print, reverse page order and so on. There is no limitation in paper size. You can create PDF with small paper sizes or PDF with large ones. The driver contains predefined commonly used paper sizes such as A7 - A0, letter, ledger, executive.
7. Profiles to control quality and therefore size of a PDF: With that profiles you can control the quality and compression of a PDF. A lower quality results in a smaller PDF file size, a better quality results in a larger PDF file size. A small selection box was added in the pdf creation assistent to set a particular profile for that PDF. The profiles can also be changed in PDF24 editor user interface for each document.

9. Integrated explorer for choosing documents: Choosing documents and browsing through folders is easy with integrated explorer. Drag & Drop document from the explorer into the right window area to automatically create or edit PDF files.
10. Several preview modes for PDF documents in editing: The PDF24 Creator display loaded PDF documents in the right window area. Each loaded document contains a preview of it's pages. There are different preview modes with different sizes available. The preview gives a fast overview of the content of a document and helps selecting pages.
11. Integrated PDF Viewer: The PDF24 Creator contains a PDF viewer for displaying PDF documents. The viewer can be opened by double click on the name of a pdf document, by double click on a particular page or by clicking the appropriate symbol in the toolbar. 12. Merge multiple PDF files to one: Merging multiple PDF documents to one can also be done with PDF24 Creator. Open the PDF24 Creator and load PDF documents by selecting them in the integrated explorer and drag & drop them into the right window area. Bring the PDF documents in order by using the up/down buttons in the toolbar and click the merge button afterwards to merge the PDF documents. The merging order is from top to bottom.
13. Split PDF, extract pages and create new PDF files: One of the best features of PDF24 Creator is working page-based. You can drag & drop pages from one PDF document to another, delete pages in a PDF and reorder pages by moving them from one place to another. These are functions with which you can create new PDF documents based on other ones.
14. Set security properties of a PDF and secure a PDF with a password: With the PDF24 Creator you can change several security properties in a PDF and secure one with a password. Therefore open the PDF24 Creator, load or create a PDF, right click on the name to open the context menu and choose properties there. Click on the tab security and make your settings.
15. Send PDF via email: Emails with PDF attached can be sent with PDF24 Creator. This can be done in PDF creation assistent after creating a PDF with pdf24 printer or in editing user interface. In PDF printer assistent there is button to send the currently created PDF and in editing user interface there is a toolbar button and a menu entry in each context menu of a PDF to send an email.
16. Sign PDF: Signing is another great feature of PDF24 Creator. The software contains everything to create and embed a signature in a PDF. To use this feature you need a certificate for signing in your windows user account. A self signed certificate can be created with the PDF24 Creator to sign PDF documents. Another way is to use a signature card. When using a signature card a special windows software is needed which makes certificates on signature card available in windows.
17. Determining of PDF file names: The PDF24 Creator determines file names for created PDF documents when created by pdf24 printer. The windows printer interface is used to determine an appropriate name. When printing a document with name XYZ on PDF24 printer, this name will be used automatically as PDF file name. This ease working with PDF24 Creator especially when working with multiple documents. By that way other software can provide a good name for a document when printing on pdf24 printer.
18. Converting images to PDF: Images can be converted to PDF without unhandsome effects. Open the PDF24 Creator and drag & drop images from integrated explorer into the right window area. This converts the images to PDF. The created PDF contains only the image and no ugly margins. This offers you the possiblity to create beautiful PDF image maps when merging all PDF to one.
19. Extract text from a PDF: The PDF24 Creator can also extract text of PDF documents. Load a PDF document and select the appropriate entry in context menu of that document.
20. Print PDF: Printing of created PDF documents is also part of PDF24 Creator. Click on the print icon next to a loaded document.
21. Personalize PDF24 Creator: You can personalize the PDF24 Creator by integrating an own image into the software. The image is shown in PDF24 Creator at several positions. To personalize the PDF24 Creator you have to use our online kit on pdf24.org.
22. Automatic updates: The PDF24 Creator can download and install updates automatically to keep the software up to data. The update bahavior can be customized.
23. Can be used in multi user environments: THe PDF24 Creator can be used in environments with more than one user. More than one user can log in and use the pdf printer. Aser rights and new concepts of Windows VIsta and 7 are taken into account.
24. PDF Screen Capture: You can capture the screen or only a portion of the screen to create a PDF of that content. There are several options: whole screen, screen working area, active windows, active window content or a user defined area. The screen capture feature is located in PDF24 Creator tray icon.
25. Windows Tray Icon for PDF24 Creator: There is a windows tray icon for the PDF24 Creator. Currently the tray icon is used to display settings, open the PDF editor, show infos, close backend program and to use screen capture feature. The icon becomes visualized if a pdf creation process via pdf printer in running. Programm notifications can always be shown.
26. Supports Twain interface: PDF24 Creator can read data from scanner, digicam or webcam if these devices supports the twain interface. This data can be used to create PDF files.
27. Developed for Windows XP, Vista and 7: The PDF Creator has been developed for the operating systems Windows XP, Vista and 7. New concepts of Windows Vista and 7 has been taken into account.

Enhancements:

• Problem fixed when installing PDF printer on Windows Vista/7 x64: When the PDF printer was installed on systems with 64-bit versions of windows vista and 7 then the user got a error message that the pdf printer couldn't be installed. This problem is fixed. The installer finished with no errors on 32-bit versions of windows. The PDF24 Creator can now be installed on 32-bit and 64-bit systems with windows XP, Vista, 7 as operating system.
• Installer improved, to install when an old version is available: If the PDF24 Creator has been installed without removing an old version it could come to conflicts. Now the new installer checks whether an old version is installed and uninstalls the old version before installing the new one.
• Uninstaller improved: To uninstall PDF24 Creator all running components have to be closed. If one component is running, the uninstaller blocks uninstallation process. The problem was that PDF24 Creator uses a running hidden component to create PDF files and this component had to be closed by user. To ease that the installer and uninstaller first closes this hidden component automatically and the user only have to close all running visible components belonging to PDF24 Creator.
