Outlook Permissions Addin 1.1
Modify the attachment security settings for Outlook more>>
Any file attachment that belongs to a Level 1 file extension is blocked and cant be viewed or accessed by a recipient.
Any e-mail message that contains a Level 2 file attachment prompts Outlook to ask users to save the file attachment to their hard disks. Level 2 file attachments cannot be opened directly from e-mail messages.
Service pack 3 for Outlook 2000 enables the user to modify these settings in the same manner that has been possible with Outlook 2002 and 2003. (Service pack 3 is avaiable HERE)
This addin allows the end user to move file types from a level 1 setting to a level 2 setting so that you can interact with blocked files within the Outlook application.
To use: Download the application and run the setup program. Then restart Outlook and select the options menu from the tools drop down. There will be a new tabbed labeled File restrictions. Use this interface to add/remove file types from the level 2 group.
NOTE: Requires Outlook 2000, 2002 or 2003

Microsoft Exchange 2000 System Attendant Incorrectly Sets Remote Registry Permissions 1.0
Microsoft Exchange 2000 System Attendant Incorrectly Sets Remote Registry Permissions is a useful program which performs a variety of functions related to the on-going maintenance of the Exchange system. more>>
Microsoft Exchange 2000 System Attendant Incorrectly Sets Remote Registry Permissions 1.0 is a useful program which performs a variety of functions related to the on-going maintenance of the Exchange system. To allow remote administration of an Exchange Server using the Exchange System Manager Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap in, the System Attendant makes changes to the permissions on the Windows Registry to allow Exchange Administrators to remotely update configuration settings stored in the Registry.
There is a flaw in how the System Attendant makes these Registry configuration changes. This flaw could allow an unprivileged user to remotely access configuration information on the server. Specifically, this flaw inappropriately gives the "Everyone" group privileges to the WinReg key. This key controls the ability of users and groups to remotely connect to the Registry. By default, only Administrators are given the ability to remotely connect to the Registry, by granting permissions on this key.
The flaw does not grant any abilities beyond the ability to connect remotely. However, an attacker's ability to make changes to the Registry once they have successfully connected would be dictated by the permissions on the specific keys within the Registry itself. Thus, while this vulnerability does not itself give an attacker the ability to change Registry settings, it could be used in conjunction with inappropriately permissive registry settings to gain access to, and make changes to a systems Registry.
