XCA 0.6.4
XCA will allow you to create and manage X.509 certificates, certificate requests, RSA and DSA private keys and CRLs more>>
Everything that is needed for a CA is implemented. All CAs can sign sub-CAs recursively. These certificate chains are shown clearly.
For an easy company-wide use there are customiseable templates that can be used for certificate or request generation. All crypto data is stored in a local and portable file format.
Xca supports next to the usual PEM and DER format of certificates the import and export of PKCS#12 (aka *.pfx) files and the Certificate import from PKCS#7 files.
Certificates can be created by self signing it, by signing it by an other (usually CA) certificate or by signing a PKCS#10 request. Netscape SPKAC is supported since version 0.4.6.
The validity dates and x509.v3 extensions can be adjusted to fit ones needs. The use of multiple certificates in CA chains is supported and a tree view of the certificates reflects the dependencies.
The application takes care to not create duplicate certificates by checking the serial number(s) on import and creation of certificates.
Certificate Templates can be used to preset the input dialog with reasonable values and to simplify the process of creating certificates and requests.
Issued certificates can be revoked and the revokation list can be created and exported. External revokation lists can be imported and examined.

UML StateWizard 7.7
UML StateWizard - a add-in for Visual C++, which provides a UML more>>
After embedded systems simulation and debugging in IDE, developer can move program to a destination working environment (such as VxWorks, embedded Linux, etc) with little or no extra investment of effort.
- A ClassWizard-like round-trip UML dynamic modeling/development tool runs in popular IDEs.
- A Cross-platform state-oriented framework for Win32, Linux, pSOS.
- For concurrent,distributed and real-time application development.
UML StateWizard supports:
- Visual C++ 6.0 English and German Edition
- eMbedded Visual C++4.0
- Visual Studio 2003
- Visual Studio 2005 (new)
UML StateWizard is a full-featured UML tool:
- UML diagram support: StateWizard supports the state tree, state chart drawing for dynamicl modeling.
- Forward engineering: The StateWizard UML tool does not limit its use to just pictorial depictions of diagrams. Because the structure of the system defined by the diagram is translated by a developer into actual source code, StateWizard bridges this step by generating the source code in a state machine framework with the methods stubbed out. Developers can take up this stub code and fill in with the actual code.
- Reverse engineering: Reverse engineering is exactly the opposite of forward engineering. In reverse engineering, StateWizard loads all the files of the application/system, identifies state relationships among applications, and reconstructs the entire state machine structure along with all relationships.
- Round-trip engineering: A rule in software design is that no design remains unchanged. This is as true for small systems as it is for large systems. During development, the design structure defined in the UML model undergoes changes to incorporate differences in implementation that may not have been envisaged during design. It becomes very difficult to keep the design of the system synchronized with the changes in the source code. StateWizard?s round-trip engineering feature allows the UML tool to synchronize the model with changes in the application code. StateWizard enforces real-time synchronization of its model to modifications in the source code. For example, developers can visually do a drag-and-drop operation in a state chart diagram and the source code will change as well. On the other hand, developers may directly modify the source code and modifications will be automatically shown in the state chart diagram. StateWizard serves as a bridge between state chart diagram and source code.
- Documentation: StateWizard provides some way for the designer to document design decisions in the diagrams. A designer may save a state chart as a BMP file and a state tree as a text file.
- Integration with popular IDE (VC++): With the increasing use of iterative methodologies for building software systems, it becomes very difficult to keep the design of the system in sync with the developed code. Hence, it would be useful if the UML tool provides integration with popular IDEs. This feature would enable the UML tool to be updated with the changes in the source code made in the IDE.
Cert Viewer Plus 1.2
ACert Viewer Plus is a free Firefox extension that adds two options to the certificate viewer in Firefox or Thunderbird more>>
Additionally, the Tools menu is extended by an entry for direct access to the certificate manager (including a keyboard shortcut).
As of release 1.0 , the XPI file of this extension is signed. Its signature will successfully verify under Firefox or Thunderbird if the "Builtin Roots Module" is available in its standard configuration. If you get an error like "could not install the file ... because: Signing could not be verified", its either due to the fact that somebody tampered with the file (let me know where exactly you got it from, in this case) - or that you tweaked the trust settings of the built-in certification authorities.
In the latter case, I assume that youre also savvy enough to figure out what trust anchor needs to be re-enabled in order to make the verification succeed again... (or how to rip the signature out of the file, otherwise) ;-)
System requirements:
- Firefox: 1.5.0.4 ? 3.0.0.*

cryptlib 3.1
A security toolkit providing strong encryption and authentication for apps more>>
The library attempts to hide the low-level details of encryption/decryption and authentication from programmers, allowing them to quickly make their projects more secure.
Some of the symmetric encryption (private key) and authentication algorithms that cryptlib supports include the following:
- AES (Rijndael)
- Blowfish
- DES, 3DES
- RC2, RC4, RC5
The following hash algorithms are available in the library:
- MD2, MD4, MD5
- RIPEMD-160
- SHA
It offers services such as:
- S/MIME
- SSL/TLS
- ssh
It features various hashed message authentication code algorithms:
- HMAC-MD5, HMAC-SHA, HMAC-RIPEMD-160
Finally, asymmetric (public/private key) encryption algorithms such as the following are available:
- Diffie-Hellman, DSA, RSA
cryptlib can also be used with a variety of crypto devices (for example, Fortezza cards and Smart cards).
cryptlib contains as core components implementations of the most popular encryption and authentication algorithms, AES, Blowfish, CAST, DES, triple DES, IDEA, RC2, RC4, RC5, and Skipjack conventional encryption, MD2, MD4, MD5, RIPEMD-160 and SHA hash algorithms, HMAC-MD5, HMAC-SHA, and HMAC-RIPEMD-160 MAC algorithms, and Diffie-Hellman, DSA, Elgamal, and RSA public-key encryption.
In addition to these built-in capabilities, cryptlib can make use of the crypto capabilities of a variety of external crypto devices such as hardware security modules (HSMs), Fortezza cards, PKCS #11 devices, and crypto smart cards. The crypto device interface also provides a convenient general-purpose plug-in capability for adding new functionality which will be automatically used by cryptlib.
The library is free if used in personal, freeware, or shareware projects. The library is written in C. ActiveX and C++ wrappers are provided. The project is OSI Certified Open Source Software.
Enhancements:
- The final release contains mostly minor tweaks based on user feedback from the 3.1 final betas, with no noticeable external changes. Internally, the HTTP engine has been significantly improved, TLS 1.1 is now supported (although at release time there were no other known implementations of this to test against), the BeOS port has been re-done to handle the current state of the OS
using GNU development tools instead of the original Be ones (thanks to Simon Taylor for providing access to his system to do the work on), and the perpetual tweaking of the networking subsystem to handle OS-specific quirks has continued.
