Plasma is an open source project for making visualizations of mathematical objects. The goal is to create a program for plotting functions and drawing other mathematical objects that is easy to use and allows you to manipulate the view in any way you want. There are many very powerful mathematics programs that give you static plots that you cant even rotate. And most of these programs make it difficult to add a time-dependence to your plots. With plasma, if you add a t to your plot expression, it will animate the plot by incrementing the value of t. So Sin[x-t] will display a travelling wave. Nothing in Plasma is new or revolutionary, it is just the first time that anyone has done a plotting program right.

A Plasma based Applet more>> Here is the PlasmaX Applet. A Plasma based Applet (100% Real Time). And its free. We had a lot of fun in writing this homemade plasma. PlasmaX is very easy to install on your web page. Many OPTIONS are available too. It is best viewed with IE 4.x or Netscape 4.x (but it works on Netscape 3.x - quite slow).
You can choose the width and the height of PlasmaX through the WIDTH and HEIGHT parameters.
You can add your own text through the text parameter. And you have to use # as a word (or sentence) separator (look at the example above).
You can the fonts and their size through the font and size parameters. You shouldnt use exotics fonts (Its the same problem as FONT FACE, I hope you know ... otherwise follow the example above).
You can choose the number of frame per second through the fps parameter.
You can choose the plasma (wavelet or elliptic or eye or fluidor devil) and the colors (native or water or rainbow or forestor fire) through the plasma and colors parameters. Here are some examples<<less
