There have been some complaints that RV10 sometimes looks flat or "synthetic". This enhancement makes the video look more natural, and even though it is a postfilter, it takes advantage of information in the bitstream, and hence, it does not just add a uniform layer everywhere in the video. Mathematical analysis between the source and the encoded video has shown that even though PSNR is reduced from HFE2, the visual resemblance is closer to the original. The result is that it makes smooth surfaces, like walls, carpets, clothing, look much more natural than before, with any blocking tendencies, stair casing, and flat/dull areas much improved, in many cases completely removed. Requirements: RealPlayer 10 Limitations: Works only with RealVideo 10 Tags: |

Supported video formats: *.AVI *.AVS *.YUV (scientific) *.BMP (RGB24) Supported metrics (and color spaces): PSNR (Y,U,V,L,R,G,B) - most popular Delta (Y,U,V,L, R,G,B) MSAD (Y,U,V,L,R,G,B) MSE (Y,U,V,L,R,G,B) SSIM (Y) - new VQM (Y) - new MSU Blurring (Y,U,V) - new MSU Blocking (Y,U,V) - new Here are some key features of "MSU Video Quality Measurement Tool": · Results are saved in *.CSV (can be opened everywhere) · All metrics are visualized (very useful for codec and filter debugging) · Main feature for codec lovers: comparative analysis (!!!) Now everybody in 5 minutes is able to demonstrate that one codec is better than another! Its easy: · Set "comparative analysis" and select original, and sequences after compression with codec A and codec B (recommended more than 10000 frames). · Select metric (recommended Y-PSNR) · Select "Save bad frames" (in "Advanced" dialog you could specify for which sequence value of the metric must be greater) - pairs of frames with maximum metric difference (A>B) will be detected and saved. · Press "Process", find output frames and select best pairs · Upload frames to your favorite forum. · Done! · If you want to prove, that codec B is better than A just swap compressed files in metric form fields. :) Codec and filter developers can use this feature for tuning (fast codec/filter update testing). CBIRUS is an image search tool. The search criterion in this system is neither the name of a file nor its attributes, but the content of the image. The system compares the image example with images in the database taking into account its various features. To speed up searching, the features of images in the database are calculated beforehand during indexation. Currently, searching by the following features is implemented: RGB Histogram HSB Histogram Color Coherent Vector PSNR It is possible to create your own features and add them to the system. Tags: |

Filter is intended for recovering quality of video ripped from DVD (for exmaple, when it contains 4 hours of video data), VideoCD or after decompressing by H.261, H.263, DivX 3, DivX 4, XviD. Filter automatically determines the blockinesss strength on the frame and in the concrete part of it, preserving the maximum of details. MSU SmartDeblocking VirtualDub plugin is a tool that allows you to filter video files. You have only to accept one of predefined presets. Thus, filter will process marginally when on scenes with slow motion, while it will smooth very hard in the case of fast motion in the same film. The main advantage of the filter is that it provides the boost of integral quality in the most widespread PSNR metric in comparison with the original film. That is, a film after decompression in comparison with original achieves the lower quality than a film after decompression and deblocking. (But for all that the original film is not used nowise, only decompressed data is used.) Tags: |

It is intended for photo realistic images and will give a poor performance on bilevel ones. mpeg2videotools is a C library and set of tools for encoding, decoding, verification and analysis of MPEG-2 video. It supports 422 Profile and High Profile bitstreams. A PSNR tool is included for comparing uncompressed video to encoded MPEG-2 video. The library will provide a C API and be implemented in C. Platforms supported will be popular Unices and Linux, MS Windows and MacOSX. autoconf and automake will be used to achieve portability for most platforms. Decoded bitstreams will be displayed using X11 server for Unix and native Windows API for MS Windows. Included is an encoder and decoder application which are useful for creating compliant bitstreams and decoding and verifying MPEG-ES, MPEG-PS, MPEG-PES and MPEG-TS bitstreams. A number of important improvements over the original SSG code have already been made: display on TrueColor visuals (16, 24, 32 bit displays) decoding of MPEG-TS streams decoding of broken streams which do not start with a required start code autoconf build MS Windows display a library API to enable its use in other projects (ImageMagick and the AAF SDK come to mind) MIAMI is an MPEG-2 video codec library which aims to be a complete implementation of the ISO/IEC 13812-2:2000 standard. The priority is completeness and correctness rather than speed. Included is an encoder and a decoder for MPEG-ES,PS,PES,TS bitstreams. Whats New in This Release: · changed function decs to ANSI style · added const qualifier to suitable function args Tags: |
