winLAME is an encoder for several audio formats, including mp3 (MPEG Layer 3), Ogg Vorbis and more. winLAME lets you set up the encoding process with an easy-to-use wizard-style user interface.
winLAME supports many input audio formats, and uses the LAME mp3 coding library for encoding and the MAD decoding library for decoding.
winLAME is distributed and licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL). See the file COPYING for more information.
Note that personal and/or commercial use of compiled versions of the LAME encoding engine (including the DLL distributed with winLAME) requires a patent license in some countries. Check before using winLAME!

WinBITS is just a Guided User Interface for the BITS (Background Intelligent Transfer Service) included in Win2000/XP. Until now, WinBITS has not been as comfortable as other Download-Managers.

Snarl is a global notification system. Snarl works in a similar way to the balloon-style tooltips that appear from time to time in the system tray, however it doesnt take the keyboard focus away when displaying a notification, multiple notifications can be displayed at the same time and you can change the appearance of the notifications.
To use Snarl, simply launch it from the Start Menu. The first time it runs it will test how quickly blended images can be drawn - this test should take less than 5 seconds on most computers - and then display a notification confirming it started okay. After this Snarl will sleep quietly in the background until an application sends it a notification.
