Free read text software for windows

The HELP Read application was designed to read along with you while you do the reading.
Whether youre younger or older, new to reading or have your own library, HELP Read should be able to help you read more and understand more of what you read.
Main features:
- Clipboard text will be loaded and read aloud automatically when you start the program. You may open and have files with the txt extension read aloud from inside the program.
- Internet Explorer(R) and Netscape(R) html pages (text) can be read aloud during an active internet session.
- A LIBRARY of 482 individual books, may be automatically downloaded and read aloud after the books title has been selected from the pull-down index above the reading window.
- Text may be read aloud (with menu selection) from ENGLISH or HAWAIIAN syntax.
- 5 Talking heads can be selected as reading Companions.
- Search for unlimited text.

WMPCDText is a plug-in for Windows Media Player that adds support for reading CD-Text.
CD-Text is an extension of the audio CD-standard that allows you to store additional information on an audio CD, such as album name, album artist and track info.
Many audio players like Winamp and RealPlayer can read CD-Text but as you know Windows Media Player was never able to support it.Until now, because WMPCDText will read CD-Text directly from within Windows Media Player.
There is an option to automatically read CD-Text from unknown audio CDs. Alternatively, you can also right-click on a CD-track in the Now Playing-pane while the CD is playing, and click "Read CD-Text".
WMPCDText especially comes in handy when using Windows Media Player for playing home-made audio CDs. Before WMPCDText, you would have to insert all the track information of such a CD manually into Windows Media Player.
Now, just make sure that the CD-Text information is burned onto the CD, play the burned CD with Windows Media Player, and WMPCDText will automatically read the track information from the CD itself and insert it into the Media Library.

SpeedRead was designed to be a tool for increasing your ability to read and retain information. SpeedRead can read an text file and display the words sequentially. The user can adjust rate words are displayed, the number of words displayed at a time, and the minimum number of letters to qualify a word.
A performance counter clocks the actual number of words displayed, the total time and time between word groups. Teachers or users can also later test reading comprehension by administering a quiz based on the material displayed. SpeedRead is a useful tool for improving reading comprehension tests such as the SAT, PSAT MCAT and LSAT.
SpeedRead steams words at you forcing you to pay constant attention and helps you learn to read groups of words rather than reading single words at a time. SpeedRead also has an adjustable rate of speed so that you can learn how to process streams of information at an increasing pace.
