Rescue 911 provides options for Automatic Backup on startup, Manual Backup at the push of a button, and a Rescue Diskette that automatically restores system files if Windows wont boot.

Automatic Backup

With Automatic Backup, Rescue 911 will back up your system files each time you start your computer. Restoring your files is as easy as pushing a button. If Windows becomes corrupted and wont start, the Rescue Diskette will boot your system into a DOS menu, where you choose to restore from Automatic or Manual Backup. If you plan to edit your registry or install new software, use this feature to first back up your files with the touch of a button. All manual backups go to a separate directory from the Automatic backups.

Why? Each time you edit the registry you need to reboot your computer for changes to take effect. If you have Automatic Backup selected (and you should), it will replace your backed up files with the changed files! In the event of an emergency, the Rescue Diskette will automatically restore system files from the last Automatic or Manual Backup. If Windows wont start, just turn off your computer, pop in the Rescue Diskette, and turn the computer on again. Whats New in This Release:

Bug fixes:
· There were widespread problems with the new 4 channel sounds that I introduced in version 2.0.4. These problems have for the most part been rectified. However, if you are using System 7.1.2 or earlier, its important to make sure that you have Apples SOUND MANAGER extension (version 3.0 or later) installed in your Extensions folder. (System 7.5 and later versions have the Sound Manager 3.0 built in.)
· The combination of Rescue! 2.0.5 and Sound Manager 3.0 should let most users enjoy the full 4 channel sound features of Rescue!. Some early Macs such as the Plus and SE do not have the required hardware to support multichannel sound output, however, and on these machines Rescue! will revert to the older single-channel sound format.
· Im pretty sure that other bugs such as colonists beaming halfway across the galaxy to Altair 1 etc. were related to the corruptive sound bug and should now be fixed. I have been unable to reproduce these errors in version 2.0.5. Please let me know if they are still occurring on your Mac!
· The memory requirement has been increased to 2200 K to provide some breathing room for the sounds and graphics. Black & white users still need only 1000 K.

Improvements and new features in 2.0.5:
· The wormhole graphics have been vastly improved. Check them out!
· Single and Multi Channel Output selectors have been added to the Options menu under "Sounds". You may want to switch to single channel sounds if you play Rescue! when you have other applications or extensions running which are sound intensive (such as PlainTalk.)
· Some minor tweaks and adjustments have been made to many areas of the program.
· As always, theres a couple of other new, undocumented "extras" with this version...

Partition Rescue description
Partition Rescue backs up your disks partition system to //partition rescue floppy disk//. Partition Rescue is a small, simple easy-to-use but powerful utility that backs up your disks partition system to //partition rescue floppy disk//.

If your disks partition system gets damaged you can restore it by booting your system using this rescue disk.

Partition Rescue can recover your disk from damaged partition table, missing partitions, virus attack etc. if a backup have been previously created.

Fly across enemy terrain to rescue your comrades imprisoned in the Enemy Bases.

How do I play ?

Your friends have all been imprisoned inside 3 enemy bases.
Each one of these bases holds 4 of your comrades.
You must hit these bases with your rockets to let them escape.
If you make a direct hit on a base, The men will run out,
You must then pick them up by landing near to them.
Dont stay on the ground for too long or a tank will find you.

When you have picked up some men fly them back to your helicopter pad.
*Warning* You can only carry a maximum of 4 passengers at any one time.

The enemy are not going to make it easy though, They know you are coming and
have positioned lots of artillery to stop you.

How do I fly the Helicopter ?

To Fly your helicopter use the Hardware Up and Down keys to go up and down.
The Date Book and Address Book keys to fly left and right, And the Memo key
to Fire your rockets.
To Turn your helicopter to face the required direction push either the left
or right key and then push the Turn button (This is the To Do List key by
default).
If you tap the Turn key without pushing a direction the helicopter will face
forward, This is handy for firing straight down.
If you dont like the default key arrangement you can choose a different set
of keys from the Options screen.
When you are coming into land make sure your helicopter is landing flat,
Otherwise you will crash.

When Apple introduced iTunes 4.9, they also introduced a rather annoying bug where a valid MP3 occasionally gets identified as a "QuickTime Movie." The problem comes when you try to sync to your iPod, because iTunes refuses to copy the songs over. iTunes MP3 Rescue to the, um, rescue!
