rotate is a Cocoa example Xcode project which shows how to freely rotate text in a custom view.

Uses NSAffineTransform and is heavily commented, so even dunderheads like me could use it.

Completly freeware.

DW:Rotate will easily rotate JPG images.

No extra plugin needed
The 3D object rotation tool is based on MacromediaTM FlashTM plugin, which is widely spread - the user is not prompted to install any additional plugin.

Easy implementation
The images are stored as external jpg files. Just copy them to the images folder and customize your presentation editing an xml file. Online and offline config-utilities facilitate editing the xml file.

Customizable
You can adjust parameters such as width, height, images count, speed of rotation and many others. It is your choice to use photographs or CG images of your product. The more images you use, the smoother the animation is.

The new rewritten code enables now to embed the 3d-rotate tool into another flash movies.

Rotate Text is an Adobe Illustrator plugin which enables the user to rotate point text to 90, 60, 45, 30, 0, -30, -45, -60 or -90 degrees.

Completly freeware for non-commercial use.

Mass Rotate is a program that quickly and losslessly rotates JPEGs.

Its useful for rotating images from digital cameras. Uses jpegtran from from the Independent JPEG Group. Written in gtk2-perl.

Usage:

mass_rotate.pl dir_with_images/

or:

mass_rotate.pl image1.jpg image2.jpg image3.jpg ...

or:

mass_rotate.pl dir/ img.jpg other_dir/ whatever.jpg you_get_the_idea/

Desktop Rotate is an AppleScript that Will cycle through the images in a dropped folder and use each image as the desktop picture for 10 minutes.

Rotate Files is an action for Automator designed to work with the Rename Finder Items Action; in particular it works with files generated by the Make Sequential option.

This option adds a sequence number to the files it receives, but it does not impose any upper limit to the number of files in the sequence; this may be useful in various situations, for example when creating a workflow for generating backup files, but with an upper limit to the number of backups preserved.

Here enters Rotate Files: with this action you can set the max number of files belonging to a certain sequence, older ones will be just moved to the trash.

Moreover you can set the sequence start value and also the sequence step value if needed and you can force removed files to be immediately deleted instead of being placed in the trash (new in version 1.1).

Simple Rotate is a plug-in for iMovie that rotates any part of your clip - or your whole clip (it is a combination of rotation and crop). You can set start and end rotation, and the plug will animate the frames in-between.

Use this plug whenever you need some non-trivial rotation effects for your clip.

Here are some key features of "Simple Rotate":

· area of effect
· everything inside this rectangle will be rotated and shown in the result. anything outside this area will be set to the background color. to resize the rectangle, click and drag into the handles. to move it, click and drag inside the rectangle.

· outside:
· if this box is checked, the clip is cropped to the contents of the active area. everything that is not originally inside the active area will be set to the background color.

· clip:
· the turned image can be clipped to the active area box. it will be clipped when this box is checked.

· select all
· clicking this button will select the whole surface of the clip. in the context of this plug this will mean that the whole clip will be rotated.

· opacity
· everything outside the area of effect will be set to this color.

· start
· this is the initial rotation of the clip when the animation begins. the plug will render all required rotations between this and end rotation over the length of the clip. full left means no rotation, full right means 360 degrees. if start is smaller than end the rotation will occur clockwise, else counterclockwise.

· end
· this is the rotation of the clip when the animation end. the plug will render all required rotations between start and this rotation over the length of the clip. full left means no rotation, full right means 360 degrees. if start is smaller than end the rotation will occur clockwise, else counterclockwise.

· sync start / end
· when this checkbox is set, start and end values will be exactly the same

· background color
· everything outside the area of effect will be set to this color.

Rotate Text/Untransform Text is set that includes two free plugins for Adobe Illustrator 5.0 through 8.0.

Rotate Text:
Adds items to the Text menu to rotate point text to 90, 60, 45, 0, -45, -60 or -90 degrees. Great for maps (thats what I wrote it for).

Untransform Text:
Adds "Untransform Text" to the Text menu--removes transformations from point text such as rotation, shearing, etc.
