ReadTheLine is a software implementing an innovative scrolling derived from the scrolling of ReadThemAll ReadTheLine is a software implementing an innovative scrolling derived from the scrolling of ReadThemAll (software for PalmOS devices).
It works like this. You start reading the line and after you reach the end of the line you move your eyes to the beginning and see the new text.
Initially when the reader for PalmOS appeared (ReadThemAll), one would want to use the auto-scroll since the screen of mobile devices is very small and there were just too many pages to scroll manually.
Looking at the PC screen, you can see that there is much more space to show a page and it looks like theres no need to press a key frequently and implement any auto-scroll in the first place.
But as a flexible device computer can always suggest something new to improve your speed of reading.
So ReadTheLine (RTL) may signifcally improve your reading speed and with it you probably will be able to quickly read books one by one.
Note: Those who has a large screen TV set connected to the computer as a monitor can try to use the software on it. It may give a little different experience and may be more comfortable in some cases.

Virtual Pascal is the tool of choice for 32-bit cross-platform development using the Pascal language.
It is compatibile with Delphi and Borland Pascal and it includes the Run-Time Library (RTL), a powerful integrated debugger, an optimizing compiler and comprehensive online documentation.
Fast cross-platform compiler
- 32-bit compiler, fully Borland Pascal v7 compatible and largely Delphi v2 compatible.

- The IDEs run on 32-bit OS/2 v2.0 and later, and Windows 95/98/ME, Windows NT and Windows 2000.
- Fourteen different debugging views, including: Watch, Stack, Breakpoint, Log, Symbols, Units, Threads, Object Hierarchy, CPU, Dump, Registers, FPU and Exceptions Windows.
- Run-Time Location Information (RTLI) can be generated and stored in the executable file. This way, you get the line number and the name of the source file of every run-time error, at very little overhead.
- The ability to extend the IDE and compiler to support more platforms or variants of existing targets. For example, it is possible to define an OWL target, a DPMI target, or a Linux target and use these from the IDE.
- The IDE uses text-based .VPO (Virtual Pascal Options) files for defining projects. The IDE is able to read old VP v1.1 .CFG files but always saves the settings to the new format. Text-based .INI files make it easier to extend the capabilities of the IDE without compromising backwards compatibility, and also allow access to most of the settings from a text-editor.
- Separate output directory for .EXE, .DLL and .MAP files; Using this option, all of the "helper" files like .OBJ, .LIB, .VPI, .ASM, etc can be stored in a separate directory.
Utility programs
- "HG" is the Virtual Pascal Help Generator. Using this, you can create your own online help files for VP.
- "Which" is a utility that looks up an executable: "If I typed xyz on the command line, what would be executed?"
- "Tph2Vph" automatically converts Borland Pascal help files to compressed Virtual Pascal online help format.
- "ImpLib" is a combined Import Library and Import Definitions manager. It is used to manage import libraries, create .DEF files from DLLs, etc.
- "ToLower" converts all files and directories to lower case.
Libraries and examples
- Includes support for upgrading parts of the Delphi RTL/VCL files to VP compatibility. For updating TypInfo, Classes and SysUtils, source code from the following Delphi versions can be used: 1.00, 2.00, 2.01, 3.00, 3.01, 4.00, 5.00
- Some support for porting programs using Borland Pascals 16-bit Object Object Windows Library (OWL for BPW) to Win32. The software includes source code upgrades to the OWL units, as well as upgrades to the CHESS and CALC examples.
- A version of Turbo Vision for OS/2 and Win32 is included with full source code.
- The full source code for the popular Object Professional library (v1.30) from TurboPower is included. This version of the library contains most functionality of the original DOS library, and supports both OS/2 and Win32 targets (Linux is untested).
- Numerous source code examples for all supported platforms are included. The examples include code demonstrating the Class model, Thread Local Storage, DLLs, extensible Memory Managers, Threading, Assembler programming, etc.
- Several advanced OpenGL examples (Win32) are included
- A testing framework for exercising parts of thr compiler and RTL is included as an example of OO programming.
A VP-specific compiler directive {&Use32+} can be used. In the enabled state
(which should be used when porting Borland Pascal code), the Use32 unit is
implicitly included in the Uses statement of all unit after the System unit, but
before any user-defined units are used.
The Use32 unit redefines the default integer types (integer and word, which
in the System unit are defined as BP- and Delphi 1-compatible 16-bit datatypes) to be 32-bit instead.
For projects that should be compatible with Borland Pascal, {$Use32+} should
remain enabled, maybe with a few exceptions in units that rely heavily on 16 bit data types. In these units, a {$Use32-} directive can be inserted at the
beginning of the unit, or the new Use16 unit can be included in the Uses
statement. Use16 simply reverts the type definitions introduced by Use32; this effectively cancels the effect of the &Use32 directive for this unit.
Projects that should be compatible with Delphi 2 or later should not use
Use32 but should instead include the SysUtils unit, which redefines Integer to
be 32 bits, but leaves Word as 16-bit - like in 32-bit Delphi.
Support for this directive increases the cross-platform and cross-compiler
ability of Virtual Pascal and once and for all solves the big problems introduced when Borland decided to change the meaning of the words "Integer" and "Word".

This tool is intended mostly for BCB/Delphi programmers. KillExp will substantially decrease the size of your executables without any loss of functionality by means of stripping superfluous sections like exports and relocations.
Without any doubts you know what Borland C++Builder is. Being a high-end IDE coupled with a middle/low-end compiler and linker (not to mention their object library), it is widely used to quickly and easily (thanks to IDE) create bi-i-iig and slo-o-oow (thanks to the rest of the package) applications.
Seems like ordinary bugs were not enough for Borland software engineers. They felt they needed to implement something really spicy and special... And here it is: every standalone executable built by BCB in full release mode (without dynamic RTL and runtime packages) has... an export section. Nothing occurs to me but a loud orgasmic "Wow!". So here it is: "WOW!"
Not only this really unnecessary export section adds to the size of executable (in most cases it really ADDS MUCH), it also reveals internal names used in your source code. Needless to say, any software cracker will be really happy to find something that looks as appealing as a method like @TRegForm@CheckRegCode$qqrv exported by your executable...
Quite naturally, this cool pheature cannot be turned off (I think, it is exactly this pheature that Borland calls "smart linking" in online documentation). Another cool pheature in BCB is the possiblity to strip relocations from executables. Although fully supported by the linker (-B switch), it makes IDE crazy and even if you manually add this switch to the linker flags in your project file, IDE will automagically remove it next time you change any project option.
Now its time to introduce KillExp - a simple post-processor for applications generated by BCB. KillExp does only two very simple things (they are really simple as soon as you know how to do them): it removes the export section and (optionally) strips relocations thus making executables smaller and a bit less crackable. You dont have to deploy KillExp constantly during your development cycle, the only time you need it is when you build a release and want to make it available for users. Executable size gain for average projects may be 64-128K or even more for big projects with lots of forms and components.
Of course, chances are that your particular project really needs the exports and/or relocations so it is always a good idea to check if your executable is still functional after processing by KillExp. No extensive debugging is necessary, just the fact that it can start is enough in most cases.
Chances are that KillExp may be useful for other Borland compilers like Delphi or C++. However, I did not test the program with these compilers.
Good news is that KillExp is totally free. Another good news is that KillExp source code is freely available so that you may customize it to your own taste.

GhostScript is a tool for converting PostScript to various other formats like JPEG, TIFF, PDF GhostScript is a great application for converting PostScript to various other formats like JPEG, TIFF, PDF (Yes, it can compete with Adobe Acrobat Distiller!).
PStoEdit by Wolfgang Glunz is a separate tool that calls GhostScript and converts to vector formats like AutoCAD DXF and to WMF.
GoBatchGS is a front-end that I made to process multiple PostScript and PDF files, running these tools. Normally GhostScript is run from a command line with numerous options. 100% flexible but not so easy to use.
For single files GSView is a friendlier option. But that didnt offer what I needed: a simple way to process a bunch of PostScript files. So I created GoBatchGS.
The most important output formats are implemented. As well as the most important options like resolution and JPEG quality and even the option to merge PDF output. Also processes and prints directly to HP printers and plotters. More info about GoBatchGS.
Main features:
- Select as many files as you want and convert them to the desired format with simple mouseclicks
- Output to rasterformats JPEG, PNG and TIFF
- Output to mixed formats PDF, EPS
- Output to vectorformats WMF and DXF. NEW (May 06) options for DXF output to polylines or lines; map colors to layers
- Output to printformats PCL and RTL. These can be written to a file or directly spooled to a printer; in the latter case the driverproperties are read and a warning is given if the selected type of driver is suspected to be incompatible with the selected outputformat
- Reorder the list of files
- Automatically determine pagesize by reading the bounding box; for PostScript files that miss pagesize info, but contain a Bounding Box comment (as in AutoCAD PostScript files)
- Merge PDF output, so you can make one multipage document from a group of single PS and PDF files
- Preset joboptions for PDF output ("distiller parameters")
- NEW (May 06) use custom joboptions files (as in Acrobat Distiller, or Indesign) for conversion of PostScript to PDF
- Set the orientation of the output

ElTree is a unique replacement for TTreeView, TListView (in Report mode), CheckListBox and any custom grid.
