The Sun ODF Plug in for Microsoft Office was designed to give users of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint the ability to read, edit and save to the ISO-standard Open Document Format. The ODF Plug in is available as a free download from the Sun Download Center (SDLC). Download the ODF Plug in.
The Plug in is easy to setup and use, the conversion happens transparently and the additional memory footprint is minimal. Microsoft Office users now can have seamless two-way conversion of Microsoft Office documents to and from Open Document. The ODF Plug in runs on Microsoft Windows and is available in English. More language support will be available in later releases.

Enhancements:
- The new release of the ODF Plugin has improved in many areas, the most important being the availability of more languages. The ODF Plugin now supports 16 different languages.
- The accuracy of document import and export has also been improved in this release.

Open XML Format SDK 2.0 April 2009 CTP is a full-featured program which provides strongly typed part and content classes for use with Open XML documents.

Open XML is an open ECMA 376 standard and is also approved as the ISO/IEC 29500 standard that defines a set of XML schemes for representing spreadsheets, charts, presentations, and word processing documents. Microsoft Office Word 2007, Excel 2007, and PowerPoint 2007 all use Open XML as the default file format.
The Open XML file formats are useful for developers because they use an open standard and are based on well-known technologies: ZIP and XML.

Instructions: To install this download:

• Download the file by clicking the Download link (above) and saving the file to your hard disk.
• Double-click the OpenXMLSDKv2.msi program file on your hard disk to start the setup program.
• Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.

Major Features:

1. This download provides strongly typed part and content classes for use with Open XML documents. The April 2009 CTP release adds support for the validation of Open XML documents.
2. The Open XML Format SDK 2.0 is built on top of the System.IO.Packaging API and provides strongly typed part classes to manipulate Open XML documents.
3. The SDK also uses the .NET Framework Language-Integrated Query (LINQ) technology to provide strongly typed object access to the XML content inside the parts of Open XML documents.
