An image is close to 1000 kb when its 2000 x 1500 pixels. Thats bigger than most screens, so its sensible to resize it to something like 600x450. After resize, the image is only around 75 kb.
That means the image will be uploaded almost 15-20 times faster and with no visible loss of quality when viewing the image on a computer screen.

This makes it easy to go back in and reimplement the styles using sensible CSS. Alternatively you can edit this file to stop style and class attributes being removed.
Documents will be converted into utf8 from whatever charset they started in. Installing iconv will increase the charset support to include multi-byte charsets, like east asian and arabic charsets. By default most single byte charsets and unicode are supported.
This program uses an XML parser to read the HTML. This means that if the source file is highly non XML compliant it will fail to parse. I have no interest in writing a robust HTML parser, so youll either have to fix the file or use some other tool. The parser is not too strict about quotes and things. You can even tell it not to look for child tags by adding tags to the "nochild" section of the config file Clean.xml.
The attributes and elements that get deleted are configurable via the file Clean.xml distributed with the app. It works for the one file I needed clean, but I expect itll need work to be useful for the general case. Please read the comments in that file and edit if neccessary for your own files. Generally useful changes should be sent back to me for inclusion in future versions.
Future versions may dig into the CSS and clean it up instead of just deleting it all. But that would require more invasive parsing, anyway this is just an alpha release.

SLang helps you develop a story by breaking it down into "Events". You can tell SLang which event depend on which others by using "dependancy rules". SLang can use this information to order events or to analyse individual "threads" within your story. more>>
SLang 2.3.1 stands for "Story-Language". It is a story-creation tool, similar to an index-card tool but much more sophisticated. It allows you to break your story down into "events", each of which will have a block of text describing the event.
In addition, you can have any number of alternative versions of these text blocks for each event. SLang allows you to mark an event as "excluded" rather than having to delete it from the project, so you can come back to it later.
SLang allows you to define special rules for each event called dependency-relationships. These define which events depend on which others. SLang can then examine all the rules, and then put all the events in a sensible order automatically, and show you how it made its decisions.
Alternatively you can put the events in order manually. Either way, you can then generate an RTF or TXT file containing the whole story. Because of the way SLang allows you to specify dependency-relationships between events, SLang allows you to experiment with which events get included in the story and which don`t, so you can experiment, generating alternative routes through your story.
The "Find shortest/longest path" utility finds out what events are required to reach a specified event in the story, and lists them in chronological order, thereby enabling you to deal with individual threads.
SLang can now export to ScriptMaker (a screenplay tool, free from the same website). This export facility creates an annotated "framework" for your script.
