Microsoft Windows Key Management Service Management Pack will monitor and report the health of KSM hosts within the enterprise environment.
The Microsoft Windows Key Management Service rule group enables system administrators to monitor the health of all computers on which the Key Management Service is enabled. Rules create alerts for conditions that could indicate KMS outages or impending problems.
In addition, KMS activity data logged in the Windows event log are collected to support forensic and statistical reporting for KMS client activations. Coupled with other sources of data, such as System Center Operations Manager, IT pros can gain a complete view of all the volume-licensed computers in their environment.
Main features:
Alerts are generated for the following conditions:
- KMS initialization failures
- DNS SRV publishing failures
- The KMS machine count is below a specified low-water mark
- No KMS activity has occurred for designated periods
Reporting:
- A data collection rule is provided that sends all client requests logged by KMS to the MOM database for subsequent analysis.
- A sample set of SQL reports is provided that can be used as a basis for extensive reporting on client activations.
