Thuban is an interactive geographic data viewer (GIS viewer) which features methods to visualize, explore, and analyze geographic information.

Enhancements:
- Add some support for wxPython 2.5 and 2.6. Thuban is still compatible with wxPython 2.4.
- Change the way thuban deals with non-ascii text. The internal representation is now the users default encoding. Thuban works a bit better with a unicode build of wxPython but there are still problems.
- Various raster data improvements. Among other things, translucent images are now supported on a sufficiently recent wxWidgets (2.6). Also, only the part of the window actually covered by the image is drawn which means you canhave many raster images concurrently. Improved performance of map rendering for raster layers (by about a factor of 2 and even more when zoomed to small extents, measured for the Iceland demo).
- Improved PostGIS support:
- Tables dont have to have a column named "gid" anymore. The user can select the column to use for ids.
- PostgreSQL views are supported too.
- Support more PostgreSQL versions. 7.4 works now.
- Added support for sizable points
- The middle mouse button can be used for panning now.
- Give a warning when the projection selected for a layer is probably wrong.
- Updated shapelib.
- Minimum version of GDAL now 1.2.5.

Seamlessly join 1 or more USGS DRG (.tif) files using the accompanying world file (.tfw). Quadjoin is a small reliable tool that will seamlessly join 1 or more USGS DRG (.tif) files using the accompanying world file (.tfw file) Any collars are clipped.
Optionally make transparent background (warning this will increase file size). Note: the tiff files must have the same attributes, e.g. scale, color map, etc.
The following tools are also included in the download package: shptoshp - copy shape file to another and convert lat/long to utm (or any proj.4 projection) or with -i option utm to lat/long, shptotxt - convert shapefile to txt file (for dlgvu) and drgshp - draw shapefiles in a USGS DRG quadrangle tiff

The TatukGIS Viewer opens most GIS/CAD and raster image file types and most ArcView, ArcExplorer, and MapInfo projects. Besides just opening and viewing files, the Viewer supports an extensive list of features including layer properties control, legend control, thematic mapping, spatial and attribute querying, custom labeling, on map measurements, PDF export and much more. The user interface is available in 15 different languages.
Because the GIS Viewer is compiled from the TatukGIS Developer Kernel toolkit, it provides an easy way to evaluate the TatukGIS technology and support for various data formats and common GIS functionality. The free Viewer can be used to generate TatukGIS project files that are compatible with any other TatukGIS product or custom applications created from the TatukGIS DK toolkit. The Viewer can generate simple ASP.NET projects for web publishing with the TatukGIS Internet Server.
The TatukGIS Editor product extends the free Viewer by adding an extensive set of features for editing, digitizing, merging, exporting, converting between formats, building/correcting map topological, etc. GIS shapefile map data.
