What should I do to create a skin?
- Set the target skin from Target Skin combo-box (Classic or Modern).
Open any image file (BMP, JPG, or PNG), using Open Image menu or Load.. button.
- Set image size, brightness and contrast if necessary.
- Adjust the image position if necessary, by hold your left mouse button when the cursor is above the image, and move it.
- Select Make Skin!, and your skin has created. You can change your skin style by select Skin Template combo-box, and another parameter from the right panel. If you feel disappoint with your image position, just select Undo Skin.., adjust the image, and then select Make Skin! again.
- Modern skin: For all other standard frame skins (playlist, media library and video), only the playlist skin visible on preview. You can change its color from Standard Frame panel.
- Save current skin by select Save Skin menu or Save.. button. You need to save it into current active skin directory.
- If you would like to make modification in the future, you can save it as Project File before close the program.

Each icon is in fact a desklet, a little plug-in that can virtually do anything. A desklet can be just a regular shortcut, a mail checker, a calendar, a clock, etc.
It depends on the imagination of the desklets programmer.
Also, the user can set a large amount of properties for each desklet: alpha level, drop shadow, grayscaling, label style, etc.
Currently, AveDesk is totally compatible with Object Dock dockets. This means that you can use docklets that were made for Object Dock as your icons.
AveDesk is a tool that enables desklets on your desktop: desklets are small graphically pleasing mini-applications that are useful and fun to use. A desklet can be anything, a small sticky note, a weather foresight, a calculator, etc. It all depends on the imagination of the desklet creator.
In recent years desklets ?or widgets, as they are also called? have been rising up. Many different applications were born after AveDesk that also host widgets. However, AveDesk has a unique set of features that make it distinct from any other widget application out there:
