WebNMS SNMP Utilities offers a comprehensive development toolkit for SNMP-based network management applications. These tools can be used for device, element, application, and system management. The tools can communicate and interact with any SNMP-enabled device. Also it is very helpful for debugging and testing. The SNMP Utilities has a simple and intuitive graphic user interface that allows you to perform various functions in a mouse-click.
WebNMS SNMP Utilities provides off-the-shelf components for trap and table handling along with basic SNMP operations, such as SNMP GET, SNMP GETNEXT, SNMP GETBULK, and SNMP SET.
These tools can be used to manage SNMPv1, SNMPv2c, and SNMPv3 agents (i.e. the tools are multi-lingual) and talk to managed devices using any of the three versions of the SNMP protocols at the same time. WebNMS SNMP Utilities completely supports SNMPv3, as it is compliant with RFC 3411, 3412, 3413, 3414, and 3415. It also supports co-existence, notification filtering, and proxy forwarding; thus confirming to the RFC 2573 and 2576.
The following tools can communicate and interact with any SNMP-enabled device.
* MibBrowser - used to view and operate on data available through a SNMP agent on a managed device.
* SNMP Decoder - used to view the decoded output of the debug information.
* Trap Viewer - used to parse and view the received traps.
* Proxy Forwarder Configuration tool - tool for configuring USM user tables and VACM entries for SNMPv3 agent.
* WebServer and SAS Server - facilitates the use of SNMP management applets.
* Proxy Forwarder - used to translate SNMPv3 request for SNMPv1 and v2c agents.
* i18NEditor - used for internationalization.
MibBrowser and TrapViewer are available both as applications and applets. While the applications can be used as standalone executables, the applets can be remotely accessed via a web browser with the Java plug-in in any Java enabled web browser.

WebNMS SNMP API offers a comprehensive development toolkit for SNMP-based network management applications. WebNMSs SNMP stack comprises a set of powerful Java SNMP library to build real-time applications for monitoring and tracking network elements that are reliable, scalable, and OS independent. The Java SNMP library provides off-the-shelf components for trap and table handling along with basic SNMP operations, such as SNMP GET, SNMP GETNEXT, SNMP GETBULK, and SNMP SET. These components enable simple and rapid development and deployment of SNMPv1, SNMPv2c, and SNMPv3 management applications. The SNMP management application (manager) built using the Java-based SNMP API can receive SNMP traps, which can be processed based on predefined criteria for effective SNMP management.
WebNMS SNMP API completely supports SNMPv3, as it is compliant with RFC 3411, 3412, 3413, 3414, and 3415. WebNMS SNMP API provides an elegant way of implementing the security and access controls. Users can also define and implement their own security and access control model. Default implementation of USM and VACM based security models are offered using these frameworks. Also, SNMP API has the provision to store the v3 configuration data in a database. This is particularly useful when managing large number of SNMPv3 devices via WebNMS SNMP API. It also supports co-existence, notification filtering, and proxy forwarding; thus confirming to the RFC 2573 and 2576.
SNMP API can be used with two-tier as well as three-tier management applications. In the two-tier architecture, the management applications directly communicate with the agents. In the three-tier architecture, the management applications communicate with the agents through a manager-server. For building highly scalable management applications, three-tier architecture is the best option.

ServersCheck MIB Browser 0.1

ServersCheck MIB Browser 0.1

ServersCheck MIB Browser - enables you to query any SNMP enabled device by using the SNMPv1, SNMPv2 and even SNMPv3 proto more>>
The free ServersCheck MIB Browser enables you to query any SNMP enabled device, using SNMPv1, SNMPv2 or SNMPv3 protocol. As a JAVA based application it can run on any system having the Java Run Time installed. It can perform GET, GETNEXT, WALK and SET SNMP commands.
The ServersCheck MIB Browser directly communicates with the ServersCheck Monitoring Software. This enables you to browse a MIB from your hardware vendor, test the result returned and if deemed interesting to be monitored then have it added to the Monitoring Softare with a simple click.
As a result any numeric OID can be monitored, reported and alerted on (for example when the returned value exceeds a defined alarm level).
This application ships with the standard IANA mibs, the RFC mibs and the mibs from the hardware/server manufacturer MAXDATA. Additional mibs can be found on various online resources. Click here for a list of resources.

GNetWatch is an open source Java application that enables real-time graphical monitoring and analysis of network performances more>>
GNetWatch is an open source Java application that enables real-time graphical monitoring and analysis of network performances through SNMP, ICMP and traffic generation modules
GNetWatch can flood packets with any DiffServ codepoint, especially those defined in RFC-2597 Assured Forwarding Per Hob Behaviour Group and RFC-2598 Expedite Forwarding Per Hob Behaviour Group.
GNetWatch can also talk using any of the following SNMP dialects : SNMPv3, SNMPv2c, SNMPv1(MD5 + DES). GNetWatch can be used on IPv4 and IPv6 networks and can generate Ethernet jumbo frames.
Graphic performances: GNetWatch is using both SWT and AWT simultaneously: the main GUI is drawn with SWT in order to get direct access to the underlying windowing system and animated graphs are generated using Java2D over AWT.
