Barcode Reader is a program module for a fully automatic bar code search in the digital images. Several bar codes of different bar code types can be recognized at the same time.

The detection functioned very reliably also under difficult lighting conditions, on an inhomogenous background and with strongly noised pictures. Also partially ruined bar codes can be reconstructed with a high probability.

At the moment the library supports only the detection of linear bar codes, however, we plan to implement also the functionality for the 2D bar codes in the next future
