SpellChecker is Windows Dynamic Link Library (DLL) which can be built into your applications to provide a spell checking facility which would otherwise normally require the use of DDE/OLE communications with products such as Microsoft Word.

The Spellchecker SDK library contains a common DLL interface and interfaces for C++ and .NET with documentation and examples in C++, C#, Delphi. It may be linked to any Windows project. The spell checker supports common English language (dictionary size: 311,000 word forms) and requires about 4 MB of RAM.

Spelling correction candidates with weights
Candidate words that correct an erroneous spelling are provided with weights. The greater is the weight the bigger is the probability of the word. The most probable word is placed at first position. This option may be used for automatic spelling correction.

Adjustable parameters of the algorithm
You may set different parameters to control the spelling check process. These include skipping words in upper case, skipping words with digits, skipping words that contain some capital letters, skipping known words.

Customizable user dictionary
A user dictionary is maintained where additional words may be stored on the fly.

Support of all Windows programming languages
You may use Spellchecker SDK from any programming language that supports importing from DLLs. This may be C#, C++, Delphi, Java, or even Perl. For this purpose we made three interfaces for Spellchecker: C++ headers and DLL, .NET assembly, and common-type DLL with a list of fully-documented exported functions.

Polar SpellChecker Server Component lets you add spell-checking functionality to your web pages and web applications. This server-side spell-checking component does not require any installation on client side.

Standard features include Change All feature (when one of the words from the ChangeAll list appears in a spell check, Polar SpellChecker Server automatically returns selected replacement on GetReplacement), Ignore All (when one of the words from the IgnoreAll list appears in a spell check, Polar SpellChecker automatically ignores that word). Suggestions are sorted by the degree of closeness with the misspelled word. Suggestions for misspelled words are selected by using typographic "looks like" matching.

Polar SpellChecker Server boasts advanced features as ability to simultaneously use multiple dictionaries - no matter if selected text is in more languages - it will be spell-checked correctly. Furthermore, with SPT builder and SpellMaker Wizard, this component allows developers to build dictionaries for any language and from ones own word list.

contraccions project is a program to validate word contractions in the Catalan language.

Word contractions in Catalan spelling are very complex and the function enclosed in this package allows a spellchecker to warn about wrong expressions and to suggest something to correct them.

It returns a code to indicate the type of the error and the location of the error in the expression, and allows a spellchecker to perform incremental validation.
