A set of two executables, SC-Split.exe and SC-Merge.exe that will... split or merge files. SC-SplitMerge is a small set of two simple and reliable executables, SC-Split.exe and SC-Merge.exe.
With SC-Split files can be split into parts with user-specified sizes. This is handy for dealing with for huge files. Another application of SC-Split is breaking a file into floppydisk size fileparts. Use SC-Split to copy your huge file to muliple disks.
SC-Merge merges, as the name implies, files into one archive.
SC-Split.exe is a MS-DOS Console based application. The destination file and filesize have to be supplied using command-line options.
The commandline options are:
SC-Split.exe FileName [-l filepartsize] [-s size]
FileName is the name of the file wich has to be split.
-l filepartsize defines the size of a part in KB.
This argument is optional, the default is 1024 (1 MB).
-s start reading from FileName from position pos in KBytes
The fileparts will be saved to the same directory as SC-Split.exe.
SC-Merge is, just like SC-Split, a MS-DOS based console application.
The supported commandline options are:
SC-Merge.exe -d destinationfile inputfile1 inputfile2 [...]
A unlimited count of inputfiles can be supplied. A set of files splitted by SC-Split can be merged using only two parameters.
Assuming that you have split huge.txt into parts with SC-Split huge.txt would be reassembled using the following commandline:
SC-Merge -m huge-0.txt
The destination file will be created if it doesnt exists else the data of the inputfile(s) will be appended to the existing destination file.
