For this reason all free and many inexpensive hosting plans do not allow access to web-server log files. Instead of it, in the best case, they offer the on-line tools, often very limited.

Traffic Log is not intended to duplicate the use of server logs, log analysis tools, or other tracking scripts that use SSI. Rather, it is intended where use of these methods are simply not possible, but meaningful statistics are desired.
Each hit is captured through a standard HTML![WareSeeker.com]()
tag, which does not require SSI. All that is required is CGI capability. Because the scripts run on the web server, you can view the statistics on any pc that has a web browser and internet access.
5 files are included:
- readme.txt - installation instructions.
- logs.txt - this is the file that each hit will be logged to.
- logs.pl - this is the script that writes the hit to the log.
- pixel.gif - a tiny transparent image.

Each hit is captured through a standard HTML
5 files are included:
- readme.txt - installation instructions.
- logs.txt - this is the file that each hit will be logged to.
- logs.pl - this is the script that writes the hit to the log.
- pixel.gif - a tiny transparent image.
- stats.pl - this is the script that reads the logs.txt file and compiles the data into meaningful statistics.
