Dohertys first major motion picture role was in Heathers, released in 1989. She went on to star in the Aaron Spelling-produced TV series Beverly Hills 90210 for four years, from 1990 to 1994.
Her departure from the series was reportedly acrimonious, however, and her career afterward was somewhat spotty, marked for the most part by made-for-TV movies.
Biography - She was reunited with Aaron Spelling when in 1998, she was offered the part of Prue Halliwell on "Charmed" (1998), a show about three witches who protect the innocent.
She starred alongside Alyssa Milano and Holly Marie Combs. After just 3 seasons, she left to work on other projects, such as movies. She had directed three of the last episodes she had starred in. She has already been in 3 movies since leaving "Charmed" (1998). She also hosted season one of "Scare Tactics" (2003) and eight episodes of season two but left to pursue other endeavors.
In the fall of 2004, Shannen later returned to television on Foxs drama series "North Shore" (2004) where she starred as Alexandra Hudson, the long lost sister of Brooke Burns. Eventually the show was canceled after one season.
Then in 2005, she got the role of Denise Johnson on the UPN series "Love, Inc." (2005), however she was dropped from the sitcom. From there she has ventured on into new projects and is looking to produce her own series.

Zoe Yanira Zaldana Nazario (born June 19, 1978), better known as Zoe Saldana, is a American actress.
She was born in New Jersey to immigrants from the Dominican Republic. Her first languages are Spanish and English. She was raised in Queens, New York, but when she was nine, her father died in a car accident, and her mother moved her and her sister back to the Dominican Republic.
While there, she enlisted in a ballet class and gained experience as a dancer, enlisting in one of the most prestigious dancing schools of that country, which benefited her during her later role in Center Stage.
Biography- Zoe Saldana made her Hollywood debut as Eva Rodriguez, an angry, foul-mouthed ballet student in the dance drama, Center Stage (2000).
The following year she had a supporting role in the forgettable teen comedy, Get Over It, starring Kirsten Dunst and Mila Kunis. She tried her luck at the indie circuit, starring alongside rapper Nelly in the hip-hop action drama Snipes (2001), which was featured at the Toronto Film Festival. She appeared as Anamaria in 2003s Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. After starring in 2003s Temptation, a rock musical version of Faust, Zoe Saldana worked on no less than seven movies. Zoe Saldana lives in New York with her mother. If she has a boyfriend, she keeps him very well-hidden.

The family moved almost immediately to Washington, D.C., where Nicoles father pursued his research on breast cancer, then, three years later, made the pilgrimage to her parents native Sydney. She broke into movies at age 16. Family life has always been a priority for Kidman.
Born to social activists (mom was a feminist, dad a labor advocate), Nicole and her little sister, Antonia, discussed current events around the dinner table and participated in their parents campaigns by passing out pamphlets on street corners.
When her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, 17-year-old Nicole stopped working and took a massage course so that she could provide physical therapy (her mom eventually beat the cancer).
