4. Working through a proxy
   • You can make Free Monitor for Google work through a proxy to increase the speed, cache results or bypass country-specific restrictions. There are four proxy options: proxy host, proxy port, username and password. The first two are required (unless you decide to work without a proxy). Username and password are only required for those proxy servers that require authentication.
   • Using a proxy is optional and does not influence the functionality of Free Monitor for Google.
5. Export into CSV
   • You can export the data obtained with Free Monitor for Google into a CSV (comma-separated values) file and analyze it further in some other application (like Microsoft Excel). To do this, right-click the list and select the "Export to CSV.." item from the context menu.
   • Free Monitor for Google exports the following data: keywords, the current position, the trend since the last search, the best position, date. The CSV file is saved in Unicode.
6. Import keywords
   • With Free Monitor for Google, you don't have to type all keywords one by one. You can import your own list of keywords directly into the program.
   • The file must be a plain text file (or CSV) with one keyword per line. Since Free Monitor for Google completely supports Unicode, the file must be UTF-8 encoded in order for Free Monitor for Google to interpret national characters correctly.
7. Working through the Google API
   • Free Monitor for Google offers two ways to perform Google queries: the default one and via the Google API.
   • The Google API is a legitimate way to check your web rankings in Google.
   • The method works as follows:
   • After you type all your target keywords (or import them from an external file) and click the Search button, Free Monitor for Google will send a query to Google using its Google Web API and wait until the Google service returns the ranking report. Once it does, Free Monitor for Google proceeds with the next keyword and so on.
8. Unicode support
