Do you have backup copy of your own data? If your hard disk drive were broken, you can buy apps and musics with money but you never can buy your original data like documents, photos, Emails, and so on.

Sync!Sync!Sync! helps you to make copies of your personal data by synchronizing two folders. Its very easy to set up and once you finish setting, what you have to do is only push a button. Of course Sync!Sync!Sync! can run automatically too, while you are out or sleeping. You dont have to mind when you made backup last time.

Its also AppleScript available so you can make your own backup flow. There are some sample script in the package, please try to find out your system.

Mac OS X 10.5 has an elegant backup system Time Machine but if you want to use it, you have to prepare a huge empty HDD. If you dont have or you want to make backup through network ( like iDisk ), Sync!Sync!Sync! should be a better choice.

Otherwise, any modified data present in the cache would be lost. Here is a an equivalent that I wrote, called Sync, that works on all versions of Windows. Use it whenever you want to know that modified file data is safely stored on your hard drives. Unfortunately, Sync requires administrative privileges to run. This version also lets you flush removable drives such as ZIP drives.

Usage: sync [-r] [-e] [drive letter list]

-r
Flush removable drives.
-e
Ejects removable drives.
Specifying specific drives (e.g. "c e") will result in Sync only flushing those drives.

For some reason, Apple has changed the way the iSync menu bar item works in Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger.

From Apple Support:

This is different to 10.3 and earlier and in my opinion is a step-back in user-friendliness.

When run Sync Now will open iSync, start the syncing process then quit iSync and itself when finished.
