Buffer Synth 2 is like a cross between a wave-table synthesizer and GRM Tools Freeze plugin.
Tomasz asked me to do a sequel to Buffer Synth and I got a bit carried away and created a bit of a monster. Please read the manual, theres a couple of things the plugin can do that you wont be able to work out from just playing with the gui. (Its almost obvious that Tomasz did the gui for this one as well)
Note: If youre running a Matrox G550 graphics card, be sure to make sure Use Bus Mastering is turned on, otherwise the plugins gui will be unbearably slow.

SynthFont is a free and useful tool for playing MIDI files making use of SoundFonts.
With SynthFont you do not need any particular sound card. In fact, if you only want to render audio files ("WAV" files) you dont even need a sound card. SynthFont makes it easy to assign different SoundFonts to difference MIDI channels.
Major Features:
- Explorer view, similar to Windows Explorer. Use this to search for mid files, arrangements or sound sources. You can easily play all files in a folder. Theres also a separate playlist.
- Piano roll view, not only shows you the notes and controllers but also lets you do some basic midi file editing.
- Events view, shows a list of all midi events in a particular track. You can filter out certain events and also do some basic editing, like changing notes and programs. Good for "debugging".
- Tracks view. This view actually contains two parts: the synth engine and the tracks list. Use the synth engine part to add VST audio effects to on of the 16 channel busses or to the main effect. Use the tracks list to assign sound sources to the tracks. You can assign SoundFonts, GIGA files, DLS files, WAVE files and VST instruments. Each track can have its own set of sound sources. Here you can also add and delete tracks, mute track, play tracks solo, etc.
- Layers view, shows the preset layers of a sound source. Each layer corresponds to what is internally called an "instrument". Usually a preset contains only one layer, but for stereo presets there is often two, panned left and right.
- Splits view, shows the splits of an instrument (one preset layer). Here is where all the fun is. Each split references one - and only one - audio sample ("wave"). Each split also have range of parameters (called "generators") that you can edit.
- Wave view, shows the sample data referenced by a split. Here also you can do some basic editing.
- There is an additional tool for expert users: the SoundFont editor Viena (not to be confused with "Vienna"). Use this tool to create new SoundFonts from audio samples, or from presets and instruments in other SoundFonts. You can have four SoundFonts open at the same time and copy freely between them. There is also a Favorite Folders view and a Preset Cache for favorite presets. More info in the help file.
- Fixed most bugs reported by Eurekalog
- The live Input mode (from an external midi port) did not work
- The rendering engine has been slowed down in all versions after 1.020
- Changed the Velocity CC interpretation back to versions prior to 1.020
- On some sound cards there were still problems with the playback synchronization, resulting in some kind of random "fast forward"
- Some midi files were read extremely slowly
- Fixed drawing of Breath Controller in the Pianoroll/Controllers graph
- ... plus an odd number of user interface glitches fixed.
- Support for reading midi files named as Karaoke files ("kar" files)
- A "Transpose All" command in the Mixer to change Song key
- When rendering a playlist to files, you can select the output folder a) same as midi files b) same as arrangement files or c) specified folder.
- New button in transport for Fast Backward 1 or 10 bars (with left Ctrl key down)

It features the same synthesis engine as the one used by Scanned Synth Pro (in other words they sound the same when using the same presets) but only allows new sounds to be programmed through randomisation. The user can set the amounts by which each group of parameters will be randomised but does not have direct access to the parameters themselves.
Scanned Synth Mini can load and save presets through the host application that are compatible with Scanned Synth Pro and vice versa. This means that Scanned Synth Mini can actually produce the full range of sounds that Scanned Synth Pro is capable of. Only the amount of control the user has over the sound is limited when compared to Scanned Synth Pro.
Scanned Synth Mini does not offer optimisation for processors with SSE and SSE2 instruction sets, whereas Scanned Synth Pro does. Support for these instructions can reduce the CPU usage by between 33% and 50% (try the demo version of Pro to see for yourself).
Scanned Synth Mini is completely free without any limitations. We plan to produce a Mac version of Scanned Synth Mini in the future.<<less

SynthMaster is a free semi-modular software synthesizer and multi-effects plug-in which combines many different synthesis methods such as additive synthesis, subtractive synthesis, ring modulation, amplitude modulation, frequency / phase modulation, pulse width modulation, osc sync and waveshaping.
SynthMaster consists of the following parts:
3 Additive Oscillators: Each multi-waveform oscillator has its own volume / frequency (pitch) envelope.
3 Multi-mode Filters: Each filter has 23 different modes ranging from 1 pole (6dB/oct) lowpass to 4 pole (24 dB/oct) resonant self-saturating lowpass. Filters can be connected in three different configurations: Series, parallel and split.
4 Modulators: The modulators can be used as LFOs (low frequency oscillators) or audio rate oscillators to modulate other modulators, multi-mode filters or the additive oscillators. Each modulator has its own envelope.
2 MIDI LFOs: These 2 LFOs are used to generate MIDI CC messages to modulate instrument parameters. Since each CC can be linked to 16 instrument parameters, it is possible to modulate 32 different instruments parameters at the same time using the MIDI LFOs.
2 32 step Patterns: The patterns could be used as waveforms for modulators or MIDI LFOs. Since the number of steps is user adjustable, it is possible to generate patterns in rhythms other than 4/4, such as 9/8, 8/7, 5/8, etc.
16 Step Arpeggiator: The arpeggiator in SynthMaster is like no other arpeggiator you have seen before. Every step has its own volume, length and delta. The number of steps is user adjustable, so it is possible to generate arpeggios in rhythms other than 4/4, such as 9/8, 8/7, 5/8, etc.
8 Band parametric EQ: The EQ could be constructed in different combinations such as parallel, series, or input + series. Each band in the EQ could be bypassed, which makes it possible to construct a very flexible parametric EQ.
Stereo Echo / Delay: The echo effect has feedback and filter cutoff parameters, and its delay size is tempo synced.
16 Band Vocoder: The vocoder uses analog modeled bandpass filters. Either the synth output or the audio input can be used as carrier/modulator signal for the vocoder.
Stereo Chorus / Flanger: The chorus effect in SynthMaster has separate delay and rate controls for the left and right outputs, which widens the stereo width of the effect output.
Stereo Reverb: The reverb effect in SynthMaster is based on physical modeling. You can specify physical parameters such as the room size, the distance of the left & right sound sources, and the width between the sound sources.
